Hi everybody Currently one of my friends has a problem with his little indoor garden. He is growing some mystery seeds that were gifted by someone. The growth was pretty similar but two plants stood out. Definetly a different strain then the rest of em. Since they all started to show their gender at the same time and were the same height, they were put into flowermode. Now the 2 other plants are growing like crazy while the rest stays in a more bushy compact form. The question is: Can you bend them without putting too much stress on them or is there another solution. They are in their second week of flowering and stretch alot. Soon they will touch the lamp while the rest will be too far away. Right now they are double the size compared to the others. Any input would be much appreciated. Have a gud one and a great weekend Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. They enable change. They can´t impose it. Alexander Shulgin

sounds like you are far into the flowering stage. you should be able to bend the tall ones out of the way without too much problem, or more, "arch" them rather than put a bend in one place. be gentle though, you dont want to put too much stress on them in the flowering stage.
try not to cast shadow on any area that looks particularly promising. move them to the outside of the room and bend them along the walls of the room, with the small plants in the middle. you will likely be causing problems of some degree for the taller ones, but hopefully the shorter ones will more than make up for the lost yield.
i would also lift the shorter ones closer to the lamp if they are being over-shadowed by the taller ones, unless that puts them too close to the lamp. if they are still too close lower the light intensity. if there is no control on the unit you can fit your own or use an external potentiometer on the power. you can get ones that plug in to the wall then you plug your lamp into that.
i am also assuming you have thought of every possible way you can raise the lamp or lower the floor.
failing that you might be forced to top them. sometimes taking a hit now can pay off in the future. hopefully it doesnt come to that.
good luck! i hope you are swimming in beautiful golden nougats soon <3

A trick I have used before in a similar situation is to literally bend the stalks over, creasing the plant but not breaking it. The stalk will droop and eventually harden in that direction after a few days. Doing this can actually increase the size of buds because it causes the plant to send more nutrients to those bent stalks to repair the damage. It's called "super cropping". I don't think it's very stressful to the plants, much much less than topping.

Thanks for the replies guys. For some reason those two grow like nothing i have ever seen. I will try the supercropping. Thanks again Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. They enable change. They can´t impose it. Alexander Shulgin

supercropping should be done in the vegetative stage and only early in the flowering stage at a push. if done late in the flowering stage the plant will use resources to do repairs instead of develop buds. it will negatively affect the buds, but wont kill the plant. personally i would supercrop only if i absolutely had to before topping.

Thanks everybody My fried brain has found a solution. Looks like a staircase now and the two big ones are kept a little to the side. I can´t make pics at this location but i will explain. Within two weeks of flowering they doubled their size. I have never seen anything like it. It is not too hot because the rest is behaving normally. I can´t wait for the harvest. Sadly i absolutely don´t know what they are. If you would grow them outside you could probably climb them to the sky. Build a weed treehouse maybe. Anyways thanks for the help Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. They enable change. They can´t impose it. Alexander Shulgin

Anyways thanks for the help it is usually advised to assume the plant will grow to double the size it is when you switch it over to the flowering stage. going by that rule of thumb you can make any necessary changes very early in the flowering stage before harsh training will cause lost yield. i know that doesnt really help now, but its worth remembering for next time. sometimes seeds will give different results, even when they are the same seed. the only way to ensure an exact copy of the mother is to take a clone. i love the idea of a weed treehouse! i wish i had one of those in my early teens

You can bend them, tie them down, you could even cut some branches off still . I wouldn't supercrop them.

Thanks for asking dyoode The two gigantic ones are still growing like crazy and are touching the roof of their home. Sadly the lowest row of branches is starting to change their gender. But the top looks absolutely amazing. The other plants are doing great. I will post some pics of the buds in a few weeks. If i have a male plant i usually give it to my cats. They just eat it like cat grass. Looks very funny when they puke cannabis leaves. Have a gud one Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. oh no probably the stress of being so tall in a small space. how far away from harvest do you think you are? is it early enough to have to bin the tall ones? at least your cats will get a treat if you do

It will take at least 4 weeks till they are finished. Everyday we are taking all of them out and investigate with a pocket microscope. They all look great but the two big ones have already pretty big colas. Only the bottom row of them has weird buds but no pollen sacks. Transgender buds kinda. But still nothing to worry about since they just stay like that. I would post pics but i live near the border with police everywhere and its a pretty weird place my buddy put them at. I have grown alot of weed in my life time but those plants are crazy. Have a great weekend dyoode Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. I haven't been growing long but I have a few harvest under my belt and have found that plants usually grow in three stages. The seedling stage, the maturation stage, and the flowering stage.
I like to start tying the plants down once they have 4 or five sets of "true" leaves. This technique is called LST or low stress training. It's weird but the plants actually love having their canopy opened up because when you tie the top of the plants below the lower branches it causes the lower growth to shoot up to match the top growth. The purpose of LST is to encourage the plant to flatten at the canopy, thus providing more even access to light, and multiple thriving bud sites. This constriction allows sugars and the growth hormone auxin to distribute more evenly. By flattening out the canopy, the entire plant also receives more light, promoting the growth of more buds and larger yields. I continue to have them tied down until until after they enter the flowering stage and go through their growth spurt ( they will double in size usually)
Topping and FIMMING work great for photoperiod plants as well and increase bud sites.
ps that bud looks delicious

Back in the day i just let them grow and do their thing. Was always more then enough. But this time i was helping a friend and learned alot about making the plants have flatter tops and more colas. Now i am a little emberassed for making this post. A little research can go a long way. We didn´t use fertilizer at all. The soil was produced by an old woman in his neighbourhood. Compost and worms did the trick. Psychedelic drugs don´t change you, they don´t change your character, unless you want to be changed. They enable change. They can´t impose it. Alexander Shulgin
