Don't forget the chronic pain patients that actually need opiates to function. There are people in the world that really do depend on these medications and while the media goes on and on about the opiate crisis, it's getting harder and harder for folks to get their medication. Between Lyrica, an Nucynta, my medications cost well over 1000 a month because the Dr. is terrified to prescribe a 20 dollar bottle of oxycodone and the hoops one has to jump through to get help are unbelievable. I had to chose between living in moderate to severe pain and smoking marijuana for example, even though it has no interactions whatsoever.
Fentanyl and heroin are the killers, but it's legitimate chronic pain patients that are suffering from the stereotypes this political agenda is creating, and yes I said political.
