So SWim has been wondering if the potency or easier absorption of the achuma alkaloids would be increased if one boiled down and made resin balls with vinegar added to the water? would simply boiling the cactus skins in vinegar and water convert the mescaline to mescaline acetate? or would it be better to boil your cactus in water that has been baseified with limestone paste then strained then add vinegar to the final phase of boiling down to a resin. The goal being making stronger resin balls. would doing this make any difference? seems like it would. worth a shot Swim would guess, swims never heard of any one trying it.
Swim has been convinced that herbal methods of creating extracts are just as viable as any other... getting the whole extract from the plant seems important especially when discussing achuma. Achuma has anti-oxidents in it that are unreal as well as it being a super food and having antibiotic properties that rival anything else man has created from what shulgin told swim. This being the case it would seem advantageous to be able to get a full plant extract as apposed to a single alkaloid isolation.

If all you want is to get the full extract then I doubt vinegar will make any difference. Use the *updated* resin tek to yield a strong plant extract

simmer 2 hours
strain and freeze the chunks
thaw and simmer another 2 hours
strain and freeze chunks etc etc

do this till the cactus isnt bitter any more. simple.

Then you can try make a tincture from the final product if you wish

basifying the plant material before heating could cause problems. Its been noted that Mescaline freebase is none too happy with heat.

resulting resin was honey colored hard crystaline in nature and very easy to scrape up. it was dissolved in vodka and is awaiting bioassy.

bioassay was successful. a 10th of the resulting crystaline hard resin was dissolved and given to a lab monkey... lab monkey reported feeling effects very quickly and felt fairly good body high.
Swim also felt mild effects from even less of that.
it was highly potent from what swim could tell. strain was bridgesii from la paz. two table spoons of dry skin was all that was used. it was heat evaped in the oven at 300 degrees twice because swim first dissolved it out of the pan after the first evap swim tasted the vodka and it was yuck so swim evaped it again.
Swim normally take two tablespoons of this achuma for a serious session, but thats one dose... a fraction of the extract that was ingested however was potent... This lends to the notion that the method of extraction made the cactus contents more potent then if the skins where just drank in cold water as usual.

Most impressive is that its a hard shiny crystalline lacquer stays in powedered form with no issue what so ever.

I am still sitting on many grams of fairly pure extracted mesc but have never tried achuma. I have some two years old seedlings but looks like its time to order some chips. Thanks for your report Brother

So two table spoons of Achuma a skins added to a 4 cups of water and a table spoon of lime stone paste...
Boiled at a low simmer
boil down... then add more water... boil down again.
Strain tea with metal mesh then coffee filter. you will probably have to go through several coffee filters, the goal is to filter out the lime stone along with the plant material. it clogs the filters so multiple filters can be used to quicken the process. when the filter is clogged dump into a new filter ect...
Take your tea and pour it into a pyrex baking pan and evap in an open oven with at 300 degrees.
as the the tea evaps it will look like honey.
make sure the tea is evenly distributed through out the pan little puddles canform and this does not dry well.
test evap point by taking it out of the oven and moving the pan around. If the resin is not moving its fineif it is it stillneeds to be in there for a little bit longer.
keep an eye on this the whole time. you dont wish to burn it.
let it cool on the counter, then put pan in fridge let that cool a few seconds in there then put it in the freezer to let it cool in there for about a minute then take it out of freezer.
you will have a totally hard sort of varnish.it will be rock hard and will require a nice sharp knife or razor blade to scrape it up. It will stay as crystalline powder, not gooing up or getting sticky. Other methods swim has tried to make resins do just that make a sticky resin this method does not. You can use dry cactus as well.
Several 00 capsules will have to be filled but eh, who cares... This is a nice shiney amber colored powder.

So how much of this result would SWIY take? 2 tablespoons being SWIY's normal serious session dose, would SWIY take the entire result? or perhaps just half? 3/4's?

What would be a recommended ballpark dosage(setting aside potency/alkaloid variations) for a body that's never ingested cactus or cactus extracts of any kind?



Capsules get stuck in my throat. One...maybe. More than that and the extract would be released in my throat, with an unpleasant capsules-stuck-in-the-throat sensation for the next few hours. Could the extract be dissolved in a juice?

Swim would start with half and see how it goes. If you want you can get it slightly moist and roll them into little balls and swallow them or dissolve them in vodka or juice... yeck...

Swims friend had a strong body high from a tenth of what was extracted.

So it's going to taste terrible huh, lol.

Swim cant wrap their brain around this one... Swims Friend had a great clear headed body high on a tenth of what was extract ( 3gms from two table spoons of cactus skin so that would be 300mg aprox.) and he was high for a good 6 hours... this is fairly remarkable.
not terrible... tasting but not great either...
