I know there were some other discussions about this. Yet, there are new and emerging developments. I will post a link to a article that just came out in reset.me that is very good. It further shows that Ayahuasca Healings is not legal and not a church.

The article didn't cover that Trinity was using the Ayahuasca Healings site to market pre made Ayahuasca from soul-herbs until about a month ago. They changed that part of their site now though a cached version is still available as is a youtube video.

Reports are that he was refused entry into the US because he was seen as engaging in illegal business activity. He apparently wasn't at the retreats he has been doing so much PR and marketing about.

Lots of people could benefit from Ayahuasca in this country, but it has to be done in a way which is responsible and honest. I am a former member of Ayahuasca Healings. I was involved with the core team directly for about 2 months while they began recruiting their first retreat participants. I and other colleagues left because we felt that this organization is entirely without integrity. It functions completely top-down with Trinity de Guzman making all of the decisions. The operational structure is reminiscent of a multi-level marketing scheme. They are claiming to be legal while they are not. They claim they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization while they are not. Trinity De Guzman himself confirmed that he was turned away at the border and not allowed entry into the United States. Rumors abound from within the organization that this is linked to his involvement with the business of Ayahuasca Healings.

I have spoken with several participants from the first retreat which ended a week ago today. Some left early due to uncomfortable conditions and weak medicine. They gave the "minimum donation" of $1500 only to leave the experience upset. This "church" has taken in tens of thousands of dollars in donations and no one knows where that money is going or what it is being used for. The volunteers on the land sleep in tents and the participants in cold, wet, muddy tipis (in freezing cold mountain weather in January no less), while Trinity posts on facebook looking for a personal chef, masseuse, and house cleaner. If I didn't know personally that this is what's going on I'd almost have to believe it was a joke.

Just to clarify on what Mike posted: The "suggested donation" was a range of $1,497 to $1,897 and we were trained to "bait" people into paying this by asking not, "how much can you donate?" but "are you able to meet the suggested donation?" since psychologically this was considered to be more effective and we were explicitly told that anyone who could not donate at least $1,000 could not be accepted
and would have to be "funneled" to the "scholarship application" which is actually not a scholarship at all but simply the organization's term for a $500 minimum donation.

As members of the "phone team" we actually, initially, accepted a lot of people who were not able to donate much at all, and yet were quickly corrected by the organization and told that this was not acceptable, and that any donation under $1,000 could not be honored

Really nasty people trying to take advantage of others and prostitute the medicine. I hope people see through the charade.

Ayahuasca Healings have suspended their cermonies.
They are beginning a process of seeking a DEA exemption.

They followed with this public announcement saying that they will not refund peoples money, so basically they scammed and robbed everyone who signed up so far:

PS – We want to be clear. The reason we are not able to issue refunds, is two-fold:

1) We have re-invested all of the donations we have received into the Church, and Spiritual Healing Center, in Elbe.

As well, the operating expenses of leading a movement like this, with how many people are involved, and how many lives are being changed, has left us in a position, where we do not have money saved to pay back refunds.

When you ask for a refund, it puts a financial strain on us, that may add up to this whole thing falling apart. To be completely honest.

I don’t believe that will happen. But it’s to put it in perspective.

It’s not like we simply do not want to issue refunds. If we had the means to, of course, we would love to, for those who are really adamant about it.

But honestly, we do not have the resources to do so. And if we want this to succeed, we can not put that type of stress on the organization right now.

- You are not paying a price for a retreat. You are not paying for a product or service. It is not an exchange of money, where you give us ____$, and then we give you a retreat.

- The money you send us is a donation, and is therefor non-refundable.

- The donation is to support our Church’s Vision & Mission, to share healing & awakening with the world.

- The retreat is shared with you, as a thank you, and as a healing service we offer. This operates as a fundraising activity of our Church.

Based on these points, we are unable to issue refunds, and we, again, apologize so deeply, for this unexpected turn of events.

Again, we simply ask you to look at this like a gift, because there is no doubt it is.

And this is happening, to serve us all.

Poor Ayahuasca having her name tarnished by association to these crooks. These are the type of people who give the medicine community a bad name.

Problem is, the "donations" were garnered through misrepresentation and deceit. If anyone sues to get their money back, the "church" will lose.

Oh ya, Trinity has nothing to stand on - his only hope is tricking people into not trying to get their money back. People that paid him seem pretty gullible so maybe he will get away with it, but maybe a few people will hold him accountable like he deserves.
