Hello brothers and sisters, I thought I share some of my experiences with the GVG and breathing techniques. It all began when I had troubles finding the right spot/angle with my torch while I was inhaling, and sometimes I ran out of breath midway, or I couldn't hold it in and be comfortable.

So, in a sitting position, breath in and out normally, then when you're ready, push out all air from both mouth and nose in a quick exhale (this shouldn't take more than 2s). To get rid of that extra air you can do the exhalation while bending forward.

Now inhale with your mouth (as if you had a pipe) and fill your lungs, try to use your core/abdomen as a compressor (push backwards). Now your chest should be "outwards" and belly "inwards", like a dad posing on the beach.

Now inhale with your nose and your belly should start to push out/relax. This takes couple of seconds.

Why do the "compressing/holding in the belly"? It works like a reserve of air to make a proper inhalation. As I fill my lungs and there is no space left, I always have some as I relax/push belly out.

So, in short

1. Exhale all at once in a short burst.

2. Inhale with mouth and fill only the lungs, hold in belly (the reserve).

3. When ready, inhale with nose and belly should relax.

Practice without a pipe to get the hang of it. Higher lunge volume and a good core is always a big help.

Text without pictures/video can be hard to understand, i'll see if I can create something with my phone. With this technique I always get it all in one inhalation and I never feel any discomfort of holding my breath too long. If it doesn't work for you, just do whatever feels right, we are all different Smile
