Just wondering what the recommended pH level for brewing acacia is. Am I correct in saying it is 4.5 - 3.5 ?? I noticed this causes my wife's kidneys to hurt a bit and also it slightly burns to purge and pee. Nothing unbearable but I definitely want to make the experience more comfortable for the people I brew for. I alkalized the brew last night back to a 7 pH but it was after re-dosing 5 times in the night and didn't do anything. There is a good chance that I had simply pushed myself too hard before getting the idea to neutralize it so that is why it didn't work. However, there is a chance that it was due to the pH change.

Has anyone neutralized the pH before? Could the acidic urine possible be caused by using liquid Vitamin C as the acidifier?

Either way, I'll try it out on my next journey but I wanted to ask for preliminary opinions. The spirit told me that I need to perfect my brewing techniques and make it tasteless and totally easy for people to drink it. The days of the traditional shaman way are passing us and the neo-shaman have to step to the plate and use science and technology to perfect this. Despite this I don't want to do pharmahuasca and I believe it takes the spirit away. But I think we need to figure out how to make taking the brew as pleasant as drinking a normal tea.

Love you all!

I'd say to keep it simple. What I do is crush 4-8 vitamin c pills, depending on pot size, put them in and brew it. I drink it like that. That makes a strong brew ime.

The more acidic you make it, the worse the taste, especially with lemon juice and vinegar. It just needs to be less than 7 really, as even brewing with regular water works.

As long has you up the Ph with a base that is ok to consume it should work Smile

Never though of trying this out before, maybe it reduces the nausea

Would the bioavailability change as the ph rises?
