If of interest to anyone wanting to understand 5HT receptor pharmacology, and thermal changes in serotonin syndrome. I actually came across this paper coincidentally as I was looking over publications for a prospective graduate school lab.

Thanks for sharing!

A few things that caught my attention:

They make no distinction between 'use' and 'abuse' (in fact, they only use the word 'abuse'Pleased.

The dosages are also very high. The experiment was with mice, but anyways the smallest 5-MeO-DMT dose was 2mg/kg, that would be 140mg for a 70kg person, which is absurdly high.

Also I don't understand how even giving 0, or in other words, nothing, induced a measurable change of over 1 degree celcius in mice temperature.

I wonder what kind of body temperature changes are seen with humans, if it's anything close to that and if it's in any way dangerous.

Maybe someone with more knowledge in the area can give more extended feedback on this publication.
