Hi guys. I'll be going to Peru at tye begining of April, for a 12 day ayahuasca reteat at el purguero center with Ron Wheelock.

I was just wondering if any of you guys had been here, and if so how was it.

Peace

I haven't been, but he is on my list to visit when I eventually make it down to Peru. Seems like a interesting fellow from what I've read especially in rak razaam's two ayahuasca tales. His account of the time he died was the best part of raks aya interview book.

Best of luck!

Hey dude, I think I'm heading to Peru at the end of the year. Please do let us know how you get on! I hear really great things about Ron from shamanic friends active in that part of the world, I would definitely like to drink with him if the opportunity presented itself...I hear his brews are potent!! Hope you have great adventures! Thumbs up

Cheers mate, will do. I'm hoping to film a short documentary about my time there. I've spoken to Ron and he says I can film myself at the ceremony, so I'll share the link when I'm back.

Peace

The man is the real deal.

I was in Iquitos for a retreat almost three years ago. I was left quite disappointed by the actual retreat itself (another story), and our group had a couple of days to kill in Iquitos before flying home. We got talking to a woman who mentioned it may be worth checking out one of Ron's ceremonies if we had the chance.

I am glad I did Smile

I found his medicine was potent indeed - the strongest that I have ever taken. Although it may not appear much in writing, there was one point where I completely identified with the consciousness of a small insect. I have never forgotten this experience.

Participating in his ceremony left me feeling as if I were witnessing a very ancient practice of healing; it wasn't just the strength of the brew, Ron was clearly channeling something through him. That night I deeply sobbed for memories that I did not realise I was carrying.

He is a very gifted healer and a nice guy to match.

Please report back your experiences Smile

Thanks, it's reassuring to hear that others have had a good experience at Wheelock's. May I ask, how do the visions differ from smoking DMT. I know that Aya affects people differently, I really hope that I see some wonderful, psychedelic stuff. As well as the internal thoughts etc. I can't wait. Been waiting at least seven years to do this, and last month everything fell perfectly into place for me to head off to Peru alone.

Cheers

Hi Brainforest,

I am not particularly well-versed in smoking DMT, but I have experienced visions on Ayahuasca that have, quite simply, been out of this world..

However, as enjoyable as they can be, the Aya journey is so much more than the accompanying visions/visuals.

The medicine has allowed me to access parts of myself that years of psychotherapy has barely scratched the surface. Mother Ayahuasca truly is a remarkable healer!

I wish you all the best on your journey.
