This may be news to some of you. And may not be to others.

Received this email response today:

"Unfortunately, Canadian customs don't allow the importation of this amazing incense anymore.
We are very sad about this. However we'll keep supplying many other great products but it seems it's the end of Ayahuasca vines in North America.

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience."

While the exceptions are obvious and some of you may be lucky to have reliable sources, hope those of you who saw this coming were wise enough to squirrel some away. But, where there's a will, there is a way. This also reaffirms some of my perceptions of the dominant mentality we live under.

On a personal note:

Although I look forward to the next stage in my awakening, it does fill me with sadness, as this has large implications not only for our community and the planet, but for my children. Our children.

This community has my sincerest gratitude for lighting the path. I hope in the future to contribute at least as much as I've learned here.

The words from Uprising by Muse are in my head as I write this. We will persevere.

The next chapter begins ...

North america & canada are not the same & have separate laws.
I hope the u.s. Doesn't follow canada Crying or very sad
It's very hard to grow a usable vine due to the winter months here & i'd hate to see caapi go the way of mhrb.

Growing is becoming more & more of a neccesity every day & it may be quite some time before i have the propper space & money to setup a large enough area to grow all the sacred plants i'd like to grow.

Have you tried growing caapi? You might be pleasantly surprised. Smile

Ime, it's one of the easiest plants to overwinter without any special equipment. It's a fast grower once established and should be able to sustain you with each season's new growth. Then when fall comes, it can be moved (or a cutting rooted if space is a major issue) overwinter. Mine is happy in an east-facing window with no added light.

Not the best photo, but all that white you see in the background is snow on the ground outside the window.

PS- please don't judge me by the sad state of the salvia in the foreground... I'm hoping for the best. Sad

rue is sold in Persian stores here and customs does not take it if you import it.

Customs, RCMP, Health Canada etc..anyone who is involved in these seizures is breaking the law. They are criminals.

Canadian laws in this regard are more lax than in the US...mimosa for instance really IS legal here for me to order, even if I know of the DMT content...not so in the USA..expect the USA to follow suit as Harpers conservatives here seem to follow what old Obamey next door tells them to.

This is so bizzare..I know for a fact that right now there are medical cannabis dispensaries in my city(I have a med card) with jars of dry cubensis on the counter..peyote is sold legally...there is an iboga therapy center literally 10 mins from my home...some of the most potent psilocybes in the world are found in parking lot flower beds here etc...but for some reason customs is seizing caapi vine?

Nice plant, but your not going to grow enough for entheogenic doses outside of the tropics unless you have a large outdoor greenhouse setup with fans and heaters etc..

This is my problem. Caapi thrives in tropical areas but harsh winters & having to bring it indoors prevents it from growing old & large enough to use unless one has the money & space for a large greenhouse.

If only i could cover my floor with nice soil & grow a canopy up the walls & ceiling of my living room Laughing

Is caapi (or any other harmalas) really that much of a problem? I honestly never even heard of them before I developed an interest in DMT. Are there a lot of teenagers sneaking around smoking or drinking caapi and getting into trouble?
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away.

I highly doubt there are. I'd be willing to bet the first time a teenager attempts to use caapi as a legal high would be the last. Not particularly recreational & lots of vomiting.

I don't understand it either. I did read something about certain harmala alkaloids being illegal in canada & others being legal still (ex. Harmaline is legal while harmine is illegal) not long ago.

It may very well be that caapi contains the one which is illegal.
Then again, i'm not from canada so i'm not well versed on the laws there. Could very well be myth.

no, caapi contains little to no harmaline..and even still the laws here are not like in the USA...just because DMT is scheduled for instance, does not mean that mimosa is illegal...just like how mescaline is scheduled here, but peyote is 100% legal and sold in herb shops openly.
Long live the unwoke.

This is subjective, but perhaps the same reason all 3 of my MHRB orders have been seized. With the rising popularity of ayahuasca at the current rate; the number of recent studies and research conducted with positive conclusions adding fuel to the fire (threatening the status-quo); maybe the media's sensationalist hype regarding several deaths in recent past (regardless of relevance, cause/effect and the governments hypocritical view of substances).

When someone like CNN does a story on ayahuasca and the content is unbiased, mostly accurate and draws a positive conclusion, the powers that be become flustered. As Hicks said, it's a war on personal freedom. Theyre retaliating.

jamie, The west coast is very different than most of Canada. Ontario is so Americanized that the 'interpretation' of laws is quite different. Customs seizes whatever they feel like when it comes in to Toronto, I swear.

Oh I believe they do w/e they want, all I am saying is that the laws themselves are being broken when they do.

tbh..Toronto sounds worse and worse and worse the more I talk to people from there who have moved here. Everyone seems to want to be on the west coast and says Toronto is like New York North. The seizures of plant material in Ontario is nothing new either...people were having this problem 4 years ago, I remember threads about it.
Long live the unwoke.
