REPORT

I've extracted a bit of DMT and I've been waiting for a time where the conditions were right to try it. I'm not in any rush. Recently I've been feeling like it's time and that I'm mentally prepared for a real DMT experience, but I'm still waiting for a good opportunity for the right setting. Fortunately, yesterday I had a chance to try a very small amount. I wanted to get an idea of the general feel of the substance and give it a kind of "dry" run before I go further on.

I was home alone sitting on a couch with the door locked and the TV muted. It wasn't the ideal setting but I knew that it was going to be a small dose, so I didn't prepare very much. I vaporized 10-12mg in a "machine" I made previously. I was able to get a pretty good amount in one hit, then I took another to clear anything that was left.

By the time I was ready to exhale the second time, I noticed that something was definitely different. The first thing I noticed was that the air in the room felt thicker somehow. I could feel the pressure of the air in the room. My vision had also started to change slightly. Things seemed like they were a little further away and I felt some tunnel vision type of effects, almost like I was looking out from deeper inside of myself and there was a slightly decreased connection to the outside world. My thought process had also been affected somewhat. I still felt lucid and fully aware but I noticed that my thoughts had started to have a strange feel to them. Bizarre images would cross my mind like a kind of play going on in my imagination, I wouldn't "see" them, but i could visualize them very clearly in my mind. These were subtle but noticeable effects. I still had the ability to "snap out of it", mostly...

At this point, I decided to lay back and close my eyes and see if that would have any effect on the experience. I did notice some slight visuals, mostly dim vein like patterns like you would see on a leaf. These patterns would multiply and come together to form more complex shapes, but they remained pretty muted. The lights were fairly bright in the room and I realized at that time that I could probably see more if the it was darker. Nonetheless, I was entranced by these visuals for a minute or so, while my mind wandered.

Upon sitting up and reopening my eyes, I found that the previous visual effects were more pronounced now. I felt more of a disconnect from the outside world. Similar to effects I've felt on salvia where it feels as if I'm looking into this world from some remote location and the signal is not as strong as it should be. Especially in my peripheral vision. I focused on the muted TV, and I noticed that the 2D images had a distinct 3d quality to them. I tried to refocus my eyes and look at it from a different angle but it continued to have this effect.

Soon after this, the effects started to wear off. I felt a little "weird" for about 15 minutes, not in a bad way though. In fact, I felt pretty good for the remainder of the night. The experience did what I'd hoped it would. I got a feel for the "flavor" of the trip and I figured out a few things that I will do differently next time (more comfortable clothes, better setup to lay down, having water available, dim lighting, among other things). I also learned that I have no desire to get up and wander around like I have on salvia. I had a distinct feeling on DMT that I didn't feel like moving around at all. That's a good thing.

Next time around, I'll be a little better prepared. I think I'll up the dose a bit to 15-20 mg and push it a little further.

I know this "trip" report may be pretty low-key, but I think it's important to have information in the lower dose experiences as well. Hopefully someone finds this interesting. And if anyone wants to vote me up, I'd like that. Just saying...Smile
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away.

Nice report, doesn't matter if it's low key, some people will find it useful. The real key is that you started off with a low dose to get a feel for it, which most of us have done. That's a very good method for getting aquainted. Only gets better from here. Keep us informed on your next journey!
