Hi Everyone, I love reading this forum but am only now posting for the first time because i have a burning question that I think people in this community could help answer. My husband and I are looking for a place to live and are wondering where the freaks, bohemians, hippes and other outliers are these days. Places like Ibiza and Saulsalito and the East Village have gone bourgeois, Goa has been over taken by psytrance (sorry I can't stand the stuff) and on and on. Where is he place to be now if you like bohemian culture? Thanks!!

Location: everywhere, somewhat...
The whole Amazon region is awesome.
Seriuosly...

Southern polar region or Gobi are nice as well, though quite complementary and extreme, but you will have lots of time an noone will come and bother you.
Not that seriously...

If you wanna go full surprize/adventure mode, try Sealand or another "micronation".
Not entirely sure if I'm serious about this one^^

Honestly, after seeing lots of "documentaries" about all this stuff, I wanna move to Peru and leave my old life behind me.
Second alternative would be Chile, up on the Andes, right next to one of the great observatories, where I could put up my own array of optics, for pure nightly amazement...

Anyone likes to join?
So my bed becomes a launchpad for a rocketship called mind, which is fueled with DMT and it's course is set to eternal infinity of everything?

I am most intrigued... (tbc)

Hi,

The only place I know to suggest is the small town of Nimbin, New South Wales, Australia.

I think it's the only place in Australia like this. I don't have experience with the rest of the world really as I've gone overseas to only two countries and that's when I was a child.

Nimbin is well known for its counter-culture and marijuana, it being openly smoked there and the police generally turn a blind eye to it and only come in for big busts every so often. The town is also known for its famous Mardi Grass festival which is a anti marijuana prohibition festival.

I've been there twice. It's a very artsy town and you'll see how colourful it is when you arrive there. Buildings and walls are covered in art. The people there are very open minded and non judgmental which is great Very happy I felt very comfortable there.

The land there is beautiful too, its tucked away in the mountains of Northern NSW. It's kinda sub-tropical there with lots of open grass plains from the extensive logging done back in the day.

But yeah, the land is fairly expensive but there are lots and lots of multiple occupancies if you're looking for a cheaper option. Its usually a share of around 100k AUD for 2 - 5 acres which you'll own and be able to build on, in a large plot of land(usually a couple hundred acres) with a small community whom live on their own share of land etc. The people are usually very eco-friendly and nature minded as is the town.

Have a look into it perhaps Smile my other half and I did, but decided it wasn't really for us live in but still love the place!!!
