I don't know how this could of happened but a Utah woman drank an iced tea laced with a good portion of lye!
I saw this on the news and said "holy crap!!" But heres the link, idk how this got mistaken for or whatever, or got in her drink!

Good reminder that we should be really careful when using lye in extractions, and a good motivator to keep working newer, safer teks.

Saw this yesterday and thought the same. Stupidity defies me which brings up why these places should be regulated and held accountable for their carelessness. Simple education and following through with practicing the knowledge could have easily prevented this.
I really feel for the husband and wife involved in this as this is something that is going to affect her for the rest of her life regardless of the outcome of the litigation.

simple labeling could've easily prevented this, unless this was part of someone's malicious
intent.

The idiot probably doesn't know how to read, or it was placed next to the sugar, and that HAD to be labeled....
