Last night was my first pharmahuasca experience.

I had originally planned to do this two nights ago, but in all my preparations and running around for this along side getting two 100g extractions going (one using Max Ion tek and the other using Lime tek for direct comparison) I kinda forgot to eat very much throughout the day. By the evening I was ravenously hungry so I decided I would wait until last night to dive into some pharmahuasca.

I started by making up the syrian rue tea with 2.75g of seeds. As this is my first time I didn't want to go too hardcore so I went for a middle ground of suggested rue dosage. I did a total of four boils, combined the resulting tea, and put it on a light simmer resulting in about 75ml of dark amber liquid. Before ingesting I figured it wouldn't be too bad. It really just smelled like Starbucks coffee. To help with any potential nausea, when warming up the tea as I had kept it in the fridge overnight, I added a teabag of chamomile tea.

For the DMT, I added 100mg of fluffy white crystals from my most recent Max Ion extraction to a small glass of Coke. It took awhile for the crystals to look like they had all dissolved. They hadn't but more on that later.

At about 9.00p, with much trepidation I downed the rue tea. I actually didn't mind the taste at all. I'm not a big fan of coffee and that all it tasted like to me. Bitter, old coffee. A half hour later came the DMT. I knew this was going to be a different story than the tea. I shot it back in one gulp and chased it with a bit more coke. I've never wanted to know what a pair of new basketball shoes tasted like, but know I knew. Blech. But it was down and I had to do was wait and possibly pray a little bit that I wouldn't be tasting it again in a little while.

10 minutes after the DMT, my stomach let me know it was still there. No actual nausea, but just a heightened sense of my stomach being a physical part of my body. I lay back on my bed and tried to calm my mind and body.

20 minutes post DMT I started to notice something rather odd with my peripheral vision. It was rippling like waves in water. I've never experienced this before. As I moved my eyes around my room, my peripheral was ablaze with lines and repeated forms. Then I waved my hand in front of my face. It was like high-speed strobe photography. Each movement of my hand (or my eyes) caused a dozen or more fragmented tracers to follow the movement. It was quite beautiful. I have a string of multicolored Christmas lights hanging in my room and as I swept my eyes back forth along them, they burst into dance from all the tracers.

I was only able to appreciate this for about 10 more minutes then my stomach had a more urgent situation to report: definite nausea. I tried to calm myself, but it was to no avail. I broke out in a sweat and knew what was coming. Thankfully since I hadn't eaten anything for about 7 hours before the tea and not even any water 2 hours before, there wasn't much to purge. Here's where I realized the mistake I made with the coke. In my excitement and haste I forgot about reading that the coke should be warm. It was not. It was ice cold. So even though it looked like all the DMT had dissolved, obviously they didn't. How do I know this? My throat and tongue burned like hell. As I lay there, covered in sweat from the intense physical exertion, I couldn't help but realize that my trip would definitely be more mild than hoped for; it was sitting in a bucket beside my bed. Oh well. I lay back and let the rest of it unfold.

I found that the nausea was still there, but subsided a bit when I closed my eyes. So I gingerly got up, turned off all the lights and lay back down. The tryptamine howl that I have come to know and love was quite prominent. The visuals were for the most part mild. The colors were muted, but I could still see the immense detail involved with them. I had what I could only suspect were momentary flashes of breaking through. I had many moments of intense movement, the fractal patterns blurring past me as I moved forward at almost unfathomable speed. Faces lurked in the darkness. They seemed to come forward just enough to make themselves known then faded back into the void. I initially was disappointed. It felt like I was so close, but denied myself by purging. But I wiped that thought away and just sank into what was being presented to me.

I am not an accomplished meditator. I've only started to work at it. But this pharma journey, being as mild as it was felt like a big meditation. I just spent several hours listening to my body, letting thoughts slide off my consciousness effortlessly, and watching the muted visuals.

It was about 4 hours after the DMT that I remembered I still had my contact lenses in. Since I was keeping my eyes closed all the time and knew that I wasn't going anywhere I figured I better take the lenses out. I was quite surprised when I turned a light on as the tracers were still strong as ever. Unfortunately when I got up and stumbled towards the bathroom the nausea made itself known again. No purging quite thankfully, but it was not a happy few minutes to get back to my bed.

Even with the purging I felt like this was a positive experience. I woke up feeling quite refreshed. I will most definitely do this again, but not without doing more research on ways to combat the nausea. Going through the steps of a rue extraction look really daunting, but might very well have to be a route I have to undertake.

Nicely written report. I imagine cocacola and rue tea wouldnt mix well in the stomach.
I would prefer a lemon tea or something chased with a shot of ginger tea to quell the nausea.
I look forward to your future explorations maybe next time you will go through the veil.
Gibrans tek is a simple yet effective method for getting a good extract. It just takes time and patience.

Thanks DreaMTripper. I'll look into the lemon tea for next time. I would probably find the ginger tea more nauseating than the pharma so I'll pass on that though. For the extraction I'm mainly looking at gibran2's Easy Caapi tek and the Tao of Rue Extraction. The Tao tek definitely looks far more involved, but would that result in a more pure extract and therefore less nausea? If so I don't mind doing the extra steps.
