Well, nothing really happened.
I extracted using Cyb's tek, 50g Acacia Confusa, three pulls. Received three razorblades full of orange goo.
I had two friends with me. I wasn't sure if it would be enough for all of us, but we divided it all up into three portions anyway. I made The Machine, and we attempted. My male friend went first. He said that it made his tongue feel super-tingly, and he felt really weird. But nothing beyond that. I tried next. I actually got a big hit of plastic, since the bottle was melting on the bottom. This is because we could not get the stuff to melt easily, and burned up the foil attempting to do so. Also, the goo started to leech through the foil. We put another layer under it, but then couldn't get anything to burn at all...besides plastic. My hit made me feel pretty weird too. I had to lay back for a second. When I closed my eyes, things were a little trippy. Next, we cored an apple, and mixed the goo with tarragon, then placed it in the apple - knowing it probably wouldn't make a difference. My female friend gave it a try, and again, felt a little weird. At least she didn't inhale plastic.
So, I'm pretty sure we made several newbie mistakes. But I'm wondering how I could have possibly gone so wrong on my preparation. The only things that were different from the instructions were that I left the lid slightly ajar while acid cooking (could it have escaped? it wasn't boiling.), and I did leave the naptha in overnight a couple times (I thought people use to do this for weeks). Also, the final product was waxy-crystalish-goo. I was having a hard time separating it. On the third pull, I evaporated it for a few days out in the open, then I used a hairdryer (probably shouldn't have done that, I know). I'm pretty sure the powdered bark was legit. It turned purple like it should've.
It was pretty disappointing, just because of the effort that went into it. Plus it's not easy to accomplish with a family at home. But I figure it's like scientific experimentation: any unwanted result just gets you closer to the answer.
