I was wondering if anyone has done a TLC or GCMS on an extract using iodized salt to see if there was any crossover of iodine compounds.

I might have, and if I did, there was nothing there (not sure if it appears with TLC but it should with LC-MS), but I can`t remember to be honest, since I use non-iodized salt and it`s been a long time since I used iodized salt.

What form is iodine in salt? How much of it is there? What extraction are you talking about, harmalas or dmt or mescaline ? What solvents or chemicals are being used?

Maybe we can work it out through logic and chemical knowledge whether there`s any issues there.

I was just speaking a general sense. It was suggested that iodized salt not be used. I was wondering if that was still the general consensus or if that was an obsolete suggestion as no iodine compounds were formed that transferred into the nonpolar phase.
