A couple of weeks back a forum member posted his bubble bag cactus extraction which resulted in a nice solid resin, much cleaner looking than the boiled down and alcohol tars I use to see on the net.
https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=48688I wondered if the following extraction process could work?
Step 1:
Boil (couple of times) Micron Filtering, Reducing, Drying.
Step 2:
Convert the dried extract directly to Hcl by dissolving it in a Hcl solution.
Assumption: Hcl is stronger than the natural form of mescaline.
Step 3:
Evaporate this solution to have a solid again containing converted impure mescaline Hcl.
Step 4:
Clean the impure mescaline with IPA and acetone as usual.
There has to be a catch somewhere because otherwise I would expect that this method is more heard of.
Is it not possible to directly convert the natural form to Hcl?
Would ridiculous amounts of IPA or acetone be needed?
It could have some practical advantages over STB or A/B like:
• no use for hard to find pure or expensive non-polar solvents
• no basification process
• no need for layer separation and tools for doing this
• no multiple saltings
Any critics, comments or suggestions are much appreciated.
