Hi all,

So I'm growing Syrian Rue from seed and it's been about two weeks, I got around a 80% germination rate by soaking the seeds in warm salt water for 24 hours!
They're starting to get their second set of leaves (Or their first set of leaf growth), but a few have started to fall over and die. I've heard this is very common for most people.

My theory is that if you keep them too moist, the half above the soil will grow faster than the roots, become too heavy, fall over and die. (whereas in the dry desert region the roots will have to grow deeper to find more water).

Does anyone have some advice for me?

Too wet most seedlings will dampen off (rot where they meet the soil surface)
do u have a peat moss in the soil / soil less mix? peat moss for sand loving plants keeps them too wet
in the desert i assume that most plants seed growth is during the wet flood even time
but the earth would be sand a large part with no peat moss ...
