If you want to experience hallucinations, you should go to a Mediterranean restaurant and order Sarpa salpa, a species of bream. Then, you will surely get hallucinations which will be strong and will last long. And everything is legal. The fish was widely consumed as a recreational drug in the Roman Empire.

probably caused by a symbiotic microbe (probably a bacterium) in the algae/phytoplankton. sort of like endophytes in sleepygrass.

there has been strong correlation with the sarpa salpa, and the christian ichthys symbolism (Which supposedly originated in rome, for persecuted christians to discretely communicate their faith to those in the know).

also, tripping off this fish is called ichthyoallyeinotoxism.
which is just a fun word to say.

but yea, 36 hours of a frightening, harrowing experience would be far from worthwhile, but who knows what would happen with a proper set and setting (still probably too long an experience for most people's tastes)

also, i heard from someone that john of patmos (The guy who wrote the book of revelations) tripped on this fish, though i am unaware of any real evidence for that (excepting of course, the text from the book of revelations, lmao).

Maybe these fish were involved in the feeding of the 5000 story. And the guy who wrote the story had a quick munch on one, then watched Jesus waving a couple of fish about in a multiplying, fractal, tracer-like way, with imaginary fish flying in all directions.

My theory could lend weight to the relationship between psychedelics and christianity.
