From my understanding, most compounds are not as easily metabolized when ingested orally when they are in freebase form. I would say freebase is best for vaporizing (i.e. changa or fumahuasca). If you want to swallow them, I recommend converting them to a salt. The simplest way to do this would be to mix them up in orange juice, lemon juice, or anything else that contains a significant amount of citric acid, converting them to their citrate form. Same goes for anything containing a lot of vitamin C, except they would be converted to ascorbates.
