What do you think of father/son dmt experiences?

I just guided my father through his first dmt trip, and its all very strange.

Before I explain anything, I just want to hear your thoughts it in general, not based on my experience.

I have to say, I cannot imagine anything more awkward and painful then involving either of my parents (but especially my father) in a psychedelic journey, but we don't have the best relationship, so that may just be me.

If you have that kind of close relationship, then I imagine it would be a really great thing, but honestly, the thought of it makes my skin crawl.

I think it has a lot to do with your preexisting relationship.

Blessings

I did tell my 18 y/o son about my mimosa/rue tea. If he was interested and wanted my help to explore it I would certainly help him out. I do not think he has an interest in it though, especially considering my experiences have been difficult -- I think DMT scares him a bit.

I would love to see my father explore it, but I doubt that is in the cards. He is in his mid 60s and pretty set in his opinions and ways. I'm not sure if I would be able to break through his preset notions that all drugs if not prescribed by a doc are bad and are in the realm of stupid kids trying to 'get high'.

Without disclosing to him my experience with dmt, I tried to get him to watch DMT Spirit Molecule docu. He was flat out just not interested.

The main thing is I did something very shamanistic. At one point he started freaking out and screaming, and I went over and started to rub his forehead and started to hum to him. This calmed him down all the way, dead quiet. I'm not sure what I should take this act as?

Last year i was with my parents in a traditional shipibo ayahuasca ceremony. Unfortunatly my mom had high blood pressure and strong anxiety so she couldn't drink the medicine. In the second ceremony my father did drink half a cup of Aya, to my delight, but mom was shocked as she saw us drinking (me 2 cups Twisted Evil ).
Aya was very gentle with my father i think (or he isn't telling me everything), he said it was enjoyable and he saw some "wavy" patterns. Nothing spectacular. Wut?
Both have gained a lot of respect for the medicine and the shamanic tradition, they don't believe the standard mainstream Antidrug propaganda in regards to this kinds of substances. But they still are fearfull to some degree (they fear for me). But for example i would think that my father is not afraid to take the medicine again.
It was definatly an immense positive experience.

Walter, what you experienced with your father seemed like an role reversal maybe thats why this act of kindness felt strange for you. Nevertheless you did absolutly the right thing. Physical contact to bring him back in his body in combination with calming frequencies. Well done Sir. Thumbs up

We have a very deep and spiritual relationship. That's why the oddity threw me off.

But its DMT, you can't really expect anything with it.
