I've been working on a list of plants to grow over the spring, but I figure you guys are more experienced than me and probably know much more about plants than I do. Can you give me some suggestions on what plants to grow? I live in USDA zone 7b. (5º to 10ºF / -15º to -12.2ºC)

My list so far:
Acacia acuminata, obtusifolia
Phalaris brachystachys, aquatica
Trichocereus pachanoi, peruvianus, bridgesii
Datura stramonium, inoxia
Brugmansia candida
Hyoscyamus niger
Turbina corymbosa
Passiflora incarnata

Maybe:
Salvia divinorum (If I can find a source for it)
Atropa belladonna (If it will grow here)

I will add to this list as suggestions are given. Smile

I have a good bit of space to work with outside. It's not all in one part of the yard, so I can't give exact dimensions. As for indoor growing, I have almost no space at all. I could maybe fit a few cacti in here somewhere, but would rather not do that until winter.

Good quality Syrian rue (Peganum harmala) for an incredible price!

Hey legit, glad to hear that you're planning some growth for the spring Smile

It would help to know how much space you have available to you, both indoors and outdoors. Trichocereus sp. are very straight forward to grow indoors with limited space and they do very well under fluoros.

"Becoming a person of the plants is not a learning process, it is a remembering process. Somewhere in our ancestral line, there was someone that lived deeply connected to the Earth, the Elements, the Sun, Moon and Stars. That ancestor lives inside our DNA, dormant, unexpressed, waiting to be remembered and brought back to life to show us the true nature of our indigenous soul" - Sajah Popham.

Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger) and poppies (Papaver somniferum) are staples in my garden. Not to ingest per se, I just think they are pretty plants. In your zone, you'll be able to grow a lot of things though!

P. incarnata grows wild here, I got some seeds for that last year that I forgot about haha. Added.
Rue is notoriously hard to grow, but I'll probably try it.

@Ilex
I'll look into henbane. I like the solanaceae plants, so it would be a nice addition! Added.
