When you take hallucinogens and reach that state of total connectivity, you are privy to what I like to call the fingerprint of God. It pervades everything and you can behold it so clearly in that state. The way in which grass is green and the sky is blue, the way in which music just so flows, the way in which the wind blows and feels against your skin.

The most basic of songs become so incredibly nuanced and mind-blowing you're left wondering why it's not always like this, or whether it always is and you just can't see it. This is the state where does arise such truly profound observations such as "dude... we. are. totally. frickin. here. right. now." and other gems like "woah dude... look at that leaf" or something a little bit more sophisticated & verbose: "wow dude, like totally, wow"

Everything is imbued with this incredible sense of pure vibrance, saturated with beauty, everything is absolutely rich with life. It's like your ears are unplugged and for the first time you're truly hearing God play an instrument called The Universe.

How does one connect to that state in meditation? I have not had too much luck. Flow states are relatively systematic and inducible by doing a few things (e.g. breathing, stretching, meditating, nootropics, tDCS) but I have yet to see this. It is a state of pure hedonism, pure gratitude, pure dissolution in the appreciation of being. Typically I will experience such a state with respect to movement/change (i.e. music, going for a run, a fluid social interaction filled with hilarious jokes) but to connect with this ancient core within us while meditating on pure emptiness would be a great start.

Is emptiness meditation even the right direction if one wants to go into that? I am thinking of doing chanting and breathwork as it seems like it might lead into it. But thus far the only thing I have experienced comparable to that state is intense mania. I guess this has everything to do with the sensitivity of the reward system, namely upregulating dopamine receptors therein. Should I renounce all worldly possessions and subsist on a diet of totally flavourless textureless rice?

Hello embracethevoid

With regards to meditation, I believe their are over 35,000 different types of meditation.

I have tried about 15 different types of meditation, I have been meditating for about 17 years.

The best and by far the most rewarding meditation (for me at least) is 3rd eye meditation. This form of meditation literally results in a feeling of pure love, bliss and extacy. Ultimatly leading to one leaving the body and traveling back to the source.

After I meditate, I can literally feel that vibration in nature and people, the wind on my face, the beauty of a flower or a tree, it is truly remarkable! I sometimes just walk round and round a local park close to me in awe (some people must think I am nuts!)

I don't know what type of meditation you are practicing, but I can highly recommend 3rd eye meditation. 3rd eye meditation instructions

I believe you can attain what you are looking for and a lot more with 3rd eye meditation.

Hope this helps
