International mail is so hit or miss with these people. They say its "Registered" but half the time you get a tracking # that doesn't update ANYTHING until it gets to your door. I just hope it arrives before 12/20.

I had one order that shipped same day of order, arrived in NY the following day and was scanned, 3 days later its out of the ISC NY and being scanned at each stop during the way. A total of 7 days from europe to midwest U.S.

Another order was placed 11/30, shipped 12/3, and has been sitting in "Origin post is preparing shipment" status for over 10 days with no updates whatsover.

I'm assuming this package is in the U.S., but where in the U.S.? WHO KNOWS?

customs? the ISC NY? or on its merry way to this impatient christmas grinch?

I just find it odd that one package gets scanned the entire way and another one doesn't even register that it even showed up in the U.S.

no inbound to customs, no processing through NY ISC....... NOTHING

I understands customs/USPS is crazy right now due to holidays but damn. not a single scan of this package to assure me that my $150 purchase is somewhere in this plane of existence?

I've been reading about alot of people recieving their packages before USPS EVER updates anything to their tracking site. So it is in their mailbox and the tracking page says "Origin post is preparing shipment".

Any USPS workers out there? especially near the borders?

Sorry about the whining guys. I"m just being impatient. : )

Which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on...

I just called USPS and asked them if its possible that they just haven't been scanning everything due to holiday workload and the rep persisting in telling me that my tracking status says "ORIGIN POST IS PREPARING SHIPMENT" and that my package has never left Warsaw Poland. Yet Warsaw Poland says it was sent to US.

What a nightmare. I'm starting to get a little annoyed at the innefficiency of mail systems in 2012. goodness....

Item was shipped on 12/3/2012

USPS tracking has stated "Origin Post is Prepairing Shipment" since 12/4

Still no letter. Still no tracking update.

Anyone else experiencing 25 days or more wait on international registered mail with literally NO tracking updates?

i've heard USPS tracking is bad but i've never had this issue in the past.

I'm wondering when i should cut my losses and assume that the package is lost/stolen.

all this complaining and constantly checking the tracking site and having ZERO updates and i just happened to pull it up again and the package just got scanned at 9:57pm at the closest sorting facility to me. Its sitting about 30 minutes away from me. After all this time they finally scanned it and it appears to be in the home stretch. I'm crossing my fingers that nothing happens to it between there and here. Looks like i should have it tomorrow.

It is going to be an amazing late christmas gift!

Ufostrahlen, my advice is to do the opposite of me, and just relax and wait for it. Maybe you'll get some good news tomorrow as well!

Do me a favor and follow up once you get an update! I'll be happy to know that you received your package!

Have a good night folks~

*p.s. Still salty at USPS horrible tracking. But i think i understand it a little better now. International registered mail that goes to USPS DOES have a tracking # but it is not really a trackable service. The main point is that they update the tracking info once the item is delivered so the vendor gets confirmation that you received your package. You are simply lucky if your package happens to get scanned at the multiple stops along the way. Alot of people report that the tracking status will never update until after the package arrives at its destination.

I do want to dispel the rumor that i read in multiple places on the web though.

Myth: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment status means that it is still at the post office in the country that the package initiated from because they were waiting until they had a full shipping crate before they shipped it out. Alot of sites say something like this and even USPS told me on the phone that it appeared that it was still in Poland. While there may be a tinge of truth to this theory, i seriously doubt that this would be the cause of any more than a couple day delay.

The truth is that once it is shipped, it could be anywhere, and depending on how efficiently the USPS is running, you may not know where your package is until it arrives on your doorstep.

Being patient was my plan. Big grin Well, I just blame the Xmas season for the delay, because I know that USPS normally need 10 days to deliver internationally. I'm okay with it.

Will inform you, when the parcel arrives!
