Are there any interactions between said 5-HTP and Passiflora?

I ingested my usual daily cap of 5-HTP and without thinking, I downed 2 passion flower capsules with it, the fact that the 2 could interact didn't cross my mind until afterwards lol.

The 5-HTP caps contain: Griffonia simplicifolia extract (133 mg), of which: 50mg hydroxytryptophan, folic acid 100µg, magnesium gluconate 200mg, vitamin B6 1 mg, maltodextrin, silicium dioxide; capsule made of titan dioxide & gelatin.

The passion flower caps contain each: Californian puppy 90mg, Humulus lupulus 80mg, Passiflora incarnata 80mg, vegetal gelatin 75mg.

Now, considering the small quantities, and the fact that 6 caps of the passion flower are the daily recommended dose for those pills I have, I wouldn't expect trouble, but I don't want to underestimate those things either. So far, 15 minutes since administration, all's good. Just the usual sedation effect from the passion flower, which is to be expected anyways, and dry mouth, also from the passion flower and cannabis. Heart rate seems steady, and I'm generally feeling calm. Just need reassurance. Or a slap for not thinking and acting stupid. Either way works in those kinds of situations I guess Smile

..it's hard to know how much alkaloid is in a passiflora extract/tincture, but at that amount there shouldn't be anything to worry about..P. incarnata can be a very pleasant potentiator of tryptamines, only in large amounts (say more than 200 grams of herb concentrated) does it cause gut MAO inhibition and associated possible dietary/drug interactions..

so, relax and enjoy..

That's cool, thanks nen! I am noticing a bit of potentiation from the 5-HTP, but it's a very pleasant addition. Extremely calm, quiet and focused mind, makes meditation so much more sustainable.

Oh, so wait, it's the passiflora that potentiates the 5-HTP and not the other way around? I assumed the HTP was the potentiator, since alone it doesn't have immediate effects on me, contrary to the passiflora.
