First of all i'd like to say salvia is one of my favorite entheogens. I've danced with Sally at least a couple hundred times. Here recently ive rediscovered my love for it.
but i was wondering how many people experience some kind of other presence while on salvia

I always encounter entities with salvia. I can't think of a time when I haven't in fact.

Well maybe once, I didn't have direct contact with an entity but was connected through wires on my back to a miniature bustling city which was alive with cars and machinery being operated by "something."

I really enjoyed my time spent with sally. Afterwards... I could laugh about it, and i was left thinking; Good joke sally. Pleased

During the trip however it's just so immensely uncomfortable it left a kind of primal terror in my heart. And i can't get over it to just give in to the trip and let it take me where it will take me. One time i resisted the come-up, screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! only to wake up in the same spot on my couch. Staring at the walls, two simple beads that resembled eyes and a little hole somewhere beneath that started talking to me . And gently asked Why, i resist? Upon which i realized i just didn't know myself and smoked more salvia. Only to find out i've grown immune to Salvia.

Since then, i've tried smoking more extracts a few times without results. Some sub-breaktrough effects sometimes that i can't for the life of me fully understand. But that's my experience with an entity on Salvia and it was Awesome and kind of hilarious... afterwards i can laugh about it, but during my time with Salvia it's dead serious. Razz

^ smoking salvia is not a great way to work with her in my experience. I smoked the leaf often in my past but after working with fresh quids harvested right off my own home grown plants I have not really even concidered smoking it again. It is an entirely different experience compared to smoking. It is not all weird and unpleasant or terrifying. It is like taking a very relaxed and tranquil shamanic journey into a dream like state almost.

Grow her..work with her..love her and learn her secrets. She has some secrets that IMO not that many know because they approach her all wrong. Not that smoking is wrong but it is just not a great method at all for working with this plant in a healing or learning way..it is too fast and confusing.

As you said, that’s your experience.

My experience has been very different. Smoking salvia has never been unpleasant or terrifying or confusing for me. In my experience, there is much to learn via the smoked route. I think the problem most inexperienced users have is excessive dose size – they take a dose equivalent to 10mg or more of salvinorin A, then become terrified. Is this a surprise?

It is much harder (maybe even impossible) to take such an excessive dose when quidding. And, of course, the onset is much more gradual, the effects last longer, etc.

There’s nothing wrong with smoking salvia. Some, such as myself, actually prefer the smoked route to other methods of administration.

Gibran I never had many terrifying experiences or even negative experiences smoking salvia. It was never like that for me other than a few times when I smoked very large doses early on. It is like that for a lot of people though, for whatever reason.

After I started to really work with quids though I found the difference to be profound. I find quids to be much clearer and more dreamy..it feels much more like I can connect to some sort of plant sentience and the whole thing moved much slower so I can make sense of it.

Rehydrated leaf and fresh leaf are the same IME..other than that fresh leaf is a bit easier to chew up.

gibran, in your experience are you using an extract or just plain leaf? Also are you breaking through?

Just curious because I have had like...one, experience where I smoked a very tiny bit of 20x and it was quite enjoyable but I didn't find that it was strong enough to get me much more than minor CEVs and body buzz. I tried upping the dose very slightly and it was too much. It would be nice to use the smoking route since it requires much less material but most of us can't hang.

I use extract and break through every time. I make my own 20X extract from my own plants, so I know it is of the proper strength. A single breakthrough dose is 20-25mg.

With commercial extracts, it’s impossible to say how strong or diluted they really are.

I believe that caring for and growing your own plants helps to forge a relationship that has an effect on experiences.

I used to be able to break through easily with a large bowl of plan leaf. The strongest extracts I make are 5x...but I dont even know when I will get around to using them again. I had some green stuff that was probly about 50% salvinorin A but that frightened me too much to try.

I have also dealt with salvia on multiple occasions. Only very few times have I felt another presence. Most of the time, the experience is centered around myself, though im never sure what "self" actually is.

My advice is go for smoking the plain leaf with a bong. You have to take big hits in succession, but the come-up is much smoother than the extract, but not nearly as subtle as quidding. I have only quided with rehydrated leaves and an alcohol tincture, nearly of which did i feel very profound effects. I wish I could quid fresh leaves, for I'm sure they are an entirely different experience.

I have quidded both fresh and rehydrated many times now. I have been growing the plant for years. I only use fresh leaf if I am taking cuttings that day, and I just put a few aside to quid later..all the other leaf gets dried and stored for quids or whatever. I have never noticed a difference in the quality or nature of the experience. The biggest factor when it comes to quids is technique IMO..and it can take a few trials to really get it down. I can quid and always get an experience now but I had to learn how to do it.

Seconded, I've been giving mine a lot of love in the hope that they will return it when the time comes.

As to not completely derail this thread with my comments I will contribute to the topic by throwing in that not only do I feel the presence of other beings on salvia, almost every time I smoke I have telepathic conversations with them, they are very nice but sometimes they feel a little too nice, like they want to keep me forever nice and I'm not quite comfortable with staying that long...

I have about 2o experiences with smoked salvia extract,a few were weird and a few frightening
ones (not really a frightening experience but I was frightened for some reason.Out of the 20
I think 3 or 4 really stand out for being enjoyable. The breakthrough experiences were more pleasant than the sub breakthroughs.

I have experienced lots of entities and presences and for the most part they were nice and helpful.

My last experience was 2 nights ago and I was down to my last bit of extract and decided to just put it all in one bowl and smoke it.It was almost double what I usually use for a breakthrough, all I can say is wow I had no idea how deep this stuff can take you.It was very
spiritual and the only time I have ever made it that deep inside myself without the aid of
DMT or Mushrooms.

I wasnt sure if I would continue to use salvia after my extract was gone, but this latest experience has shown me this can be a good tool for spiritual advancement. So I will put in an order for some more until I can get a plant of my own.Pleased

Salvia is woman spirit, I never liked the way she spoke to me. Very direct but hard to understand. I smoked salvia daily in an attempt to tame her, as I heard the only way to get the full effect is from the reverse tolerance she imposes, I eventually retreated, she was showing me my future moments beforehand and her tone was stern and not at all gentle to me. I am not sure that I won't try working with her again, it was difficult at best for us to get along. Maybe one day I could try again.

I am quite interested in this as well, I would leave to hear even the minor adjustments you do to get it right.

I encounter entities nearly every time I smoke. They are typically female, and appear to be a sort of hybrid between an angel and a jellyfish (if that makes any sense at all). Most recently I met what I've come to call a "microscopic talking dog". Weird stuff, but that's part of the reason why I love it.

What are the "other presences" that you meet like?
