"The latest scoop is that you don't even have to use chemical extractions anymore - run several handfuls of grass through a wheatgrass juicer (sold in most health food stores) and you'll wind up with a glass or so of incredibly potent liquid. One teaspoon (with MAO inhibition, of course), is a standard dose with strong grass. Only two teaspoons proved very challenging to one of my correspondents - an OD! The juice can be dried and smoked in a bong - two tokes will usually do it."
This is tried and true add some syrian rue and your off for hours!
I am sure this would work with any strain of phalaris grass. However i see a few issues, one the alkaloid content/profile of the grass can vary significantly and two some strains contain some undesirable alkaloids that (from my understanding) should not be consumed with an maoi, such as gramine and horedine.
Also, I believe that even if you dried the juice you would have a hard time smoking it (though I have never tried this). One because of the amount you would have to smoke as it would be fatty (plant oils and chlorophyll and what have you) and two I am not quite sure it would be active in that form.. Simply juicing it would leave the alks in their naturally occuring (salt?) form, not freebase.
This is all just from my readings and can not say I have tried this first hand.. I'm just not sure that you want to go blindly mixing phalaris with an maoi is all.. you can read a bit more
here or by searching for the phalaris analysis thread ...
