Personally, I usually think for a long while, meditate, find that natural high zone and stick her under my tounge, though I'm down for trying a new approach next time I go.
We'll be starting in the early hours of the morning, I plan on going for a nice long run, I love runs, they feel great and I always find something to challenge myself with day by day, and new heights to reach, the afterglow of a real good workout puts me in an incredible state of mind, so my plan is to run, run and run, until I'm satisfied, come home, wash up, eat, meditate, then drop with my friends.

Have any of you tried anything similar?
Also, I'm very interested to hear of your preparation methods if you feel like you want to share.

Sounds like a great plan Voidwalk! I've never thought to prepare for an adventure with excercise but you're right on! Running also puts me in a great state of mind. I'm beginning to realize the healthier you are- mentally and physically- the better the trips get.

I usually spend a good 15 minutes thinking about the best experience I've ever had- how i felt, what i saw, how it changed me. It gets me in a very adventurous state.
Meditation too but I like to do that in the midst of it all. I'm deffinately going to try out your excercise idea though thanks for sharing!

i like dropping as i'm about to do something of relative non importance and get confused, vegetate, and continue. other than that i don't really do anything before i drop

I like to clean my house as close to spotless as I can get it. I find that any kind of extra dirt or clutter seems to distract from the experience when I drop at home. If I'm out and about or at a friends house, Shaolin's answer is pure gold.

Walk towards the music fest, nah but on a day where I'm alone and want to get work done I will wake up early (LSD lasts like 15ish hours for me) shower and then meditate on whether I really want to do it that day. Then start walking to the nature trails as it sits, Ipod is a must.

I don't really trip anymore, so things have changed. I always had my trip rituals, but honestly they were half assed. I was always too excited/impatient to get it going. Kinda funny to look back on those days now, when I used to just say a quick prayer even when I was dosing multiple milligrams. I was pretty ballsy/rash in my early twenties. Nowadays when I trip it's a multiple day thing. I need to start preparing at least a day or two in advance. I get deeper with my prayers, and I make it more a point to meditate......something I'm real lax with the majority of the time. I look around myself & pay closer attention to the world around me. Just knowing what's to come is enough to pull my head outta my ass & outta the rat race, and put it more into the moment. When the day comes I take it easy. No work or anything like that.

I meditate, I pray, I may or may not go to the gym. I'll think long & hard.... I'm sober these days, and that includes everything. I rarely trip, and when I do it's cause I feel that I need a reboot of sorts. So I make damn sure that I really feel a trip is in order, and that I'm ready for it. Tripping anymore is jittery business for me. I went deep with the psychedelics, deep enough that I need to ask myself it's even necessary anymore. I lived through a lot of shit, including drug addiction, so when I do trip there are gonna be inner demons popping up. I need to be ready to face that. Once I'm sure that I am, I pray hard. I turn the experience over to the All, then I dose & meditate as I wait. Afterwards I take a day or two to reflect on things.

I've learned the hard way that the more you put into it, the more you tend to get out of it...and vice versa

lsd to me is a very powerful metta-programming substance, as robert anton wilson and john lilly used to say..capable of re-programming how your mind works on a very basic level. I like to meditate, read, write, play guitar, and just take time out of the day to think a lot in the days before going into a high dose experience. LSD can be really psychoanalytical, almost too much so at times, so mental prep is absolutely key IMO. Ritualizing it and doing some yoga/meditation during the experience can have just utterly profound results

clarifying your intent, and building your center beforehand, can work wonders. Press your palms together and just smile

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

Usually I meditate without any music while waiting for the effects to manifest, and then put some music on.

Or if in the mood, will play some guitar or piano, altough inevitably things get progressively too weird and I have to stop. Usually enjoy playing some more in the come down though.

Other things include having hot tea (no caffeine), the house must be totally clean and tidy and the trip journal nearby.
This is the time to really find out who you are and enjoy every moment you have. Take advantage of it.

Light some incense, say a prayer, tell my friends I love them, put on some wailers and make some jokes.

Nothing in particular, really. There's always a moment of great enthusiasm and expectation, followed by mental mantras and self-reassurance to promote a better onset. I've only meditated directly before a trip on the Hoffman 2012 tab..I found that it required extra clarity and preparation. I reserve my meditation for when I'm about 25% into my trip, or right before DMT.

Pray or offer your mind/body/soul to what you believe is real.
