[quote=speakeasy]Once during a Buddhist retreat, we performed a ceremony where the gates of hell were broken open and all of the residents were invited to come into our beautiful meditation hall space. We chanted The Heart Sutra with the great wish for the end of suffering for all sentient beings that may be caught up in their personal hell realm.
I don't know how this applies to entities in hyperspace, and as I'm still very new to this, I haven't had personal contact with entities that I can remember.
However, from a Buddhist perspective, all entities (even ones that mean you harm) are worthy of compassion. Now there is also, 'idiot compassion', where say, murderous hoards are knocking at your door and you give them the key to get in. We don't want to get caught up in that kind if mindless compassion. Compassion needs mindfulness and skillful means.
I do wonder if the entities that we may interpret as most malevolent, may be manifestations of the darker parts of our own psyche that we could figure out a way to give more love. If we fight them, they may amplify as we give them that power.
I would be very interested to hear other more experienced Nexian's on this topic of compassion and entities.
This topic also brings to mind a passage from The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment
by Thaddeus Golas:
One of my psychedelic excursions had gotten off to a bad start, and I was sinking into a really satanic bummer. As I looked about me at people turning evil, shrunken, colorless, old, and weird, I suddenly thought, "Well, What did you think it was that needed to be loved?" And just like that, the doors opened and I was in paradise.
No resistance. This does not mean that you must be physically passive or meekly put up with bad vibrations or rip-offs. This means no resistance in your mind. Be free in your head, act out of love, and do what feels good. There is no action that is always right or wrong: the only true variable is the love with which you act. As you open your awareness, life will improve of itself, you won't even have to try. It's a beautiful paradox: the more you open your consciousness, the fewer unpleasant events intrude themselves into your awareness.
Love as much as you can from wherever you are. This line is especially good to recall when you feel frightened, crazy, or have taken some bad dope. Write it on the wall of your room. You may not want to love what you feel or see, you may not be able to convince yourself that you could love it at all. But just decide to love it. Say out loud that you love it, even if you don't believe it. And say, ''I love myself for hating this."
Love it the way it is. The way you see the world depends entirely on your own vibration level. When your vibration changes, the whole world will look different. It's like those days when everyone seems to be smiling at you because you feel happy. The way to raise your vibration level is to feel more love. Start by loving your negative feelings, your own boredom, dullness and despair. It's hard to believe, but changing the content of your mind does nothing to change your vibration level.

thanks for this. the part about loving everything is the most important thing.
we have to love everything in order to ``understand``.
we have to love our fears, our weakness. it might sounds strange but its like that. You know when you walk in a bus or metro and you fear that some people look at you in a funny way, well we have to love this. or when we are followed on the street and for no reason we feel uncomfortable and start thinking about evey step we make, we must love them and we must love our quite ridicuoulous reactions. We have to love every thing in our lives. but most importantly I feel that we must love our fear. one we love our fear we realize that actually the fear didnt really exist. at least I realise that when, in pain because I have some colon problems, that when I start loving the pain as msuh as I can, the pain is gone in minutes. when I try to fight the pain and make the pain less hard for me, I can suffer for up to a whole hours, thats how bad love can alter my perceptions...
We have to love our fears and love it just like we love pie.
love is in my opinion the conscience will. the global conscience in my opinion is only aiming for love.
I believe that we are just one consciecne. and that why the conscience exist is to love. love is the ultimate goal. thats what all the living things on our planet are aiming for.
anyways
