The Phenomenon of Man by by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin with an introduction by Sir Julian Huxley.

I recently heard of it and plan to read it. At a superficial glance it seems to foreshadow the ideas of McLuhan and/on the emergence of the internet. What Teilhard calls the "noosphere" McLuahn might have called the "global village."
