Over the time I have done a fair amount of extractions. It seems to me that a small amount of DMT gets stuck in the filter each time, so from the very first time I have saved all the filters for extraction on a later time. The amount stuck in the filters may be small, but I don't enjoy throwing anything away, especially not something like DMT.

Then comes my question: How could one extract the DMT that remains in the filters? I was thinking of doing a water+NaOH and naphtha tek, but I'm not sure how that will work with the filters. Will the paper or anything in the paper be soluble in naphtha? If yes, what other way could I use to extract DMT from paper?

Simply rinse them out with warm whatever the form of DMT is stuck in the filter paper dissolves in.

There shouldn't be anything in the filter paper that will react or leach out of them. However, adding a strong base such as NaOH, which will react-with/break-down the cellulose the paper is made of.

If Sister were going to extract the filters she would simply pass some alcohol through them and then evap the alcohol

yeah just run some alcohol and evap. Or you could also use vinegar, re-base, re-extract, but seems much easier to use alcohol and evap (or any other solvent at hand, acetone, naphtha, whatever) if its freebase.
