Me and my gf took some blotters on ny eve, i took one and she split one with a friend, about 6hours after ive taken the acid i started feeling a headache it wasnt to bad at first but got proggresivly worse, in the end my gf had to massage my neck so i could go to sleep. She and her friend didnt have any problems but another friend and his gf who took 2 resp 1 hit also got similiar headaches. I´m preety sure it was lsd since ive has alot of acid and can tell... i hope Anyway i had a few beers during the night and didnt hydrate very good, also i ate over a poundof candy so all of this could have contributed, just though it was weird that 3people get simialr headaches from the same blotters.

Is it possible headache was actually not directly from acid but rather from the overstimulation from NYE together with the open perception from acid?

It´s possible, ive just never had anything like this while doing any psychedelic drugs, i can sometimes get similar headaches from my neck, i usually get these about 1 time per month..
I just thought it was weird that my two friends got the same headaches, like a muscle tightness in the back of your head, and except the acid we had a preety boring NY eve, or we had fun but didnt really do anything overly stimulating except drawing some weird stuff.

LSD, along with the vast majority of 5ht2 agonist psychedelics, cause vasoconstriction. This can give one a headache. A nice simple fix (courtesy of reading Ron's hobbies for the last three years or so) is to brew and drink a cup of coffee. The theobromine (actually the caffeine metabolizes to ~10-20% theobromine as well) is a potent vasodilator, and can reverse those effects. Vasoconstriction (lots will know this from LSA, since it is a VERY strong vasoconstrictor) can also cause lack of blood flow in the extremities, sometimes even causing pain. Again coffee or theobromine will help this. It is important to note that people taking theobromine along with psychedelics have sometimes noticed greatly increased potency/effects, so its' probably best to just drink some coffee (or take a capsule of Kola nut, what coca cola is made from) to get the effects rather than risk it. Ron claimed it would increase visuals and euphoria, but I guess I'm not as sensitive because I never really noticed. Drank a few when I got headaches on psychs though, and it would sometimes fix them. I recommend you give it a try. The "muscle tightness in the back of the head" feeling was definitely reduced sometimes completely eliminated using caps of kola nut (my predominant method of using theobromine, not a coffee addict and don't want to be one). This is Ron's post on what psychedelics cause vasoconstriction and a list of herbs / drugs that combat it (vasodilators). Cheers, Troll! By the way where is that avavar image from? I remember it is just like Pokey's avatar from some while back and I remember finding it when seeing it then, but I can't find them again! There is something so positive and charming (and even creepy) about those drawings!

LSD for me always caused a lot of muscle tension, especially in the face from all the constant smiling/jaw clenching. Quote:Anyway i had a few beers during the night and didnt hydrate very good, also i ate over a poundof candy so all of this could have contributed I would guess this actually had a lot to do with it, dehydration is a huge cause of headaches, along with the fact LSD exaggerates everything tenfold, at least for me. The candy, beers and LSD would all contribute to the dehydration, and the muscle tension could make the resulting headache feel worse. Disclaimer: All Entheogens and other research materials are not for Human consumption! I have researched by text the effects of consuming such things in case of accidental consumption. I have never actually consumed any of the materials I speak about and it should be assumed I'm speaking hypothetically. I have a wild imagination.

All psyches can give me headaches. I'm less likely to get a headache if I dose earlier in the day and keep myself hydrated and make sure my body is prepared/nourished etc. I mainly associate this headache with late night sessions when I'm unable to sleep afterwards. Hence I don't think it's directly related to the substance, but an amalgamation of different things showing the negative side affects to be more a symptom of fatigue than just the use of the substance alone. Though I do believe it can add to it. I'm very cautious with any long lasting substance i.e LSD/Mescaline as it should be seen as preparing for a mind marathon in terms of duration compared to the short walk of other psyches. When I take the correct preparations I usually feel better afterwards in everyway. LSD especially to myself seems to be the most side affect free, as it feels like the most pure psyche with the least bodily sensations, other than that electric feeling which I kind of like

So i tried the same batch again and had no problems at all, so it was probably something else that got intensefied by the acid.

Being an avid fan of psychs I will be referring to this in the future. Thank you kindly! As for you Troll, after hundreds of L trips, I have realized that the experienced is magnified in a much more comfortable manner when you make sure your body is happy and healthy, before during and after. Because of this I have taken a higher interest in my overall health ( previously I was extremely careless for I am young and thought myself to be indestructable ). Peace and love =]

over a pound of candy!? gross. that'd definitely give me a headache. Quote:(actually the caffeine metabolizes to ~10-20% theobromine as well) Is this true? Very interesting. A good source of theobromine besides kola nut could also be cocoa.

Candy def. gives me headaches like that.
On a side note though, I thought LSD could actually be used to treat headaches? Is that wrong? Probably depends a lot on the dosage I'm sure though...

It's the vasoconstriction. Ive hear a talk Kathlene Harrison gave where she mentions how she wont take LSD without having some cannabis to smoke on the way down because LSD always gives her a headache from the constriction. Mushrooms can do this to me slightly as well, my neck tightens up, even DMT has done it...it can cause a headache if you strain your neck in that state. I would take a vasodialator afterworkd like a bit of coffee, cacao, some cannabis etc and dont strain your neck muscles in that state. Long live the unwoke.
