My friend wants to extract DMT using an herbal percolator, so he can use lime, and to make it simple. He is basing his method off this tek https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Amor_fati's_Nontoxic_Approach_to_Spice_ExtractionHowever his mimosa is already powdered, and he is using naptha. Could he simply mix his lime and mimosa, put in the percolator, and run naptha through it, then evaporate? If so home much naptha should be used? What is the purpose of the vinegar in the tek?

If lime and naphtha are preferred, your friend might as well attempt Q21Q21's tek. He won't have to deal with THP then. Vinegar is used in Amor's tek as it is an A/B and the acetic acid is used to break down the mimosa in an attempt to free as much dmt as possible. tek wrote:acid and heat treatment may aid in breaking down the material for extraction.

Swim would like to use the herbal percolator to make things easier. Could I mix half lime, half mimosa, and add enough vinegar just short of there being excess liquid, then running naptha through, and evaporating?

Yea, the vinegar step comes before basifying. For better yields, you should either have the mimosa sitting in acid for a couple days or heat the mix while basifying and extracting. I have never used THP, but I don't think it eliminates the advantage of breaking down the material in either a long soak or heating.
You could always do either of these things prior to adding to THP I believe.

Ahh alright.
Well would mixing mimosa and vinegar into a paste without any excess vinegar and leaving for a few days, then adding to herbal percolator, mixing in lime, running naptha through, and evaporating work then?

If your friend wants to preserve it as a sludge it might be easier to mix with the lime and use the heat method. The vinegar soak would work, but there aren't any a/b teks using lime (I don't think). He might end up having to add a lot of lime to counteract the acetic acid. It would work, but your friend will need to use more lime and verify the correct pH before the NPS washes so he might as well just skip the vinegar and heat the lime/MHRB mix.

In the tek above the mimosa is simply mixed with vinegar into a paste and put in a hotwater bath. Could I simply do that, mix in lime, run naptha through, evaporate, and scrape up the product? The only things I would really be changing is that I'd be replacing the limonene with naptha.
