I done some research about vaping and asked my wife for help as she vapes.

I got 0.5g of spice and 1ml of PG juice (I read online that PG was best as the spice wont seperate)

my wife has a aspie zelos 3, so i bought a nautilus 3 tank and she advised a 0.7ohm mesh coil would be best for a PG solution.

So I made the juice myself, put it all together. It does work, i vaped around 30% of the solution over 30 mins had mild open and clsoed eye visuals

But i think i must have wasted a lot of it, it was very harsh, and burned my lips a little.

Is it possibel to get a good set up with this equipment or should i invest in a better vape?

Hi there First of all : the Nautilus 3 is not the most suitable tank for that use. It is intended for MTL (Mouth-To-Lung) use, while for DMT vape you would need a DTL (Direct-To-Lung) tank (= more efficient for that use).
About harshness : 100% PG will be harsh in the throat anyway. In traditionnal nicotine vape, the PG is what brings the throat hit which imitates that of the cigarette. For a 1g DMT/2ml juice ratio, you can use a PG/VG mix like 70% PG/30% VG. VG will bring smoothness in the overal throat feeling.
Also, most important of all, you have to find the right power setting, according to your coil specificities and the way you inhale (quick inhalation vs slow inhalation). The setting is usually a little below the recommended value for the coil as DMT puffs are usually longer than they would be with usual nicotine vape.
At first sight, the e-cig method seems easy to handle but there is a learning curve, it's not just about putting juice in a tank and pressing a button. The hardware and settings choice is important and it's better to practice first with blank juice so as not to waste your precious spice juice.
In summary : use a DTL tank, bring a few VG in your juice mix (70% PG/30% VG or 80% PG /20% VG) to lower harshness, practice with blank juice using various settings, then when you feel ok, try with the spice juice.

As additional info, here is my current setup, given as example :
*Vaporesso Veco Tank (the 2ml one) with SS316 0.3ohms coils.
*Juice mix = PG/VG 50%/50% with 1g(freebase)/2.8ml PG/VG mix
*Power curve (VPC mode on the Aegis S100 box) fading - roughly speaking - from 25 to 20 watts (as indication, the SS316 0.3ohms coil is given 35-40w for nicotine vape). Sometimes I increase or decrease a little this setting to modulate the experience/strongness. If I were to use a fixed wattage it would be between 20 and 30 watts with this coil.
I experiment no spice burn, no bad taste, no coil clog, no harshness with this. Works flawlessly. I wasted lot of spice and it took me long time before i get the good balance between hardware capacities, juice concentration ratio and suitable power settings, although i'm a daily nicotine vaper...

Additional considerations : you can use 50%/50% PG/VG mix up to 1g/2.5ml concentration (more or less). Below 2.5ml per freebase gram you'd better diminish the VG proportion as it will tend to precipitate, especially at low room temperature. 100% PG will only be needed for concentrations around 1 or 1,5ml vape juice per freebase gram. You don't need to bring extra harshness if things work fine with a few VG in the juice mix (your ratio is 1g/2ml). Also, if you feel your lips heating too much, use a longer driptip, it will help dissipate heat.

Thank you for taking your time to reply. I tried getting like a longer nozzle and a 0.35 coil at like 28W and it works a lot better, had my first breakthrough experience, was pretty cool. I’ll deffo look into these direct to lung vapes.

While DTL vs MTL(Mouth to Lung) may make a difference I personally wouldn't bother acquiring a new vape for that alone. I'm using .3ohm at 21watts and hit it MTL. While it may be a bit less strong it makes it infinitely easier to hold in, and it doesn't seem to be wasting a ton, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. That said I also use a 50/50 vg/pg mix with what I would like to say is a 1:2 dmt:vape juice but can't really remember off the top of my head.

The Nautilis 3 looks fine. It's similar to what I'm using. Which means to say, not the world's best but good enough and you won't have to mess it much/at all to get it working well.
