It's funny. This topic divides the people!
Either you are totally pro or totally against the whole theory of 2012.

It's the same with astrology or any spiritual claim.

There are people who think it's bullshit and some who think it reflects reality.
The interesting thing is: Both groups "find" evidence that supports their point of view.
Of course i understand, that spirituality or any "higher powers" are hard to prove.
Either an individual is capable of seeing and experiencing it, or it isn't!

The (r)evolution 2012 film makers say, that they are NOT sure when 2012 is exactly.
Yet we can see certain "changes". More and more people getting interested in themselves, ergo are getting more spiritual. Be aware of themselves.

The problem with any assumption about the future is: That it is NOT provable, no matter what any scientist sais.
The future is a mystery and totally unkown.
Any idea about the future remains an idea in the herenow about it. Even logical reasoning is not able to predict the future. Of course, that is what "real" scientists try to accomplish Smile.
Reality is not something you can explain with mathematics!

Really? Because I was under the impression that there is no evidence for or against 2012. We simply have no relevant data to extrapolate from. The reason that so many people laugh at the whole 2012 movement is because there's not a shred of evidence for it either, yet so many people seem to believe fanatically in it.

Consider the examples I gave a moment ago: Bertrand Russel's celestial teapot or the flying spaghetti monster. There's just as much evidence for either of those as there is for the 2012 theories. But do you believe in the flying spaghetti monster and the celestial teapot? I'd venture to guess that you don't, because claiming sincere belief in something with absolutely no evidence is irrational.

Of course if you'd like to share some of the "evidence" that supports your view, I'd love to hear it.

But bear in mind that "More and more people getting interested in themselves, ergo are getting more spiritual. Be aware of themselves" is not evidence. It's a blind assertion. You'd have to actually find figures to support that assertion, otherwise we're just talking about your own confirmation bias, not objective reality. And even if your assertion were true, I'm not clear on how people "getting more spiritual" relates to the ancient Mayan calendar... I don't suppose you could clear that connection up for me?

Oh really? Care to back that statement up with any supporting evidence? Because every shred of evidence I've seen (from the orbits of celestial bodies, to the quantized energy levels of electrons, to the equilibrium of reactions being determined by Gibbs free energy in biological systems) seems to point the opposite direction.

Its not the end of the world, but the birth of a new one.
Conjoint creation and joy for all from its contemplation.

Can you back that up with anything?

I could claim that it's not the birth of a new world but the date that Xenu will return and slaughter everyone who's ever made fun of Scientology.... but would you believe me? And if not, then what makes your assertion any more valid?

I am not for or against any idea about 2012. I guess I am the type that wish that "something cool" happens, but if nothing happens then there is no other thing left to do but to keep on trying to be better and do thing right and all that.

However I think that this whole 2012 thing will create awareness about psychedelics (specially DMT) to a lot of new agers and regular people, because it's the only thing that they can actually experience. Yeah, pineal gland, Mayan calendar, third eye, alien contact, end of time, new beginning, enhanced perception and a lot of DNA talk... but nothing is to experience.... just a lot of beliefs and spacey talk.

One way or another people will feel tired about this bs when they realize that there are no wings coming out of their back.

Then the Terence McKenna (and probably the Daniel Pinchbeck as well, which I doubt) factor will come to the equations. Then the talk will not only about 12 DNA helix, Alien stuff, Mayan Calendar and rainbow unicorn dolphins... but about McKenna (why?) because the trend is rising and it will be very popular in 2012.

Then it's just a matter of time (I predict June/July 2012) for DMT to enter THE Mainstream Culture as "The key to the universe".
Yeah probably there will be a lot of talk about "pineal eye" and "DNA Activation" and some other strange stuff... but the fact that anyone can experience "other realities" will be very attractive to the people... who by the way, will be TIRED by then about words and promises and theory. People will want action. Something they can experience for themselves.... and when they are told that they can be freaking aliens and Spaceships and meet "Buyakawa" (a sexy pleiadian) and fuck the hell out of her... trust me. Its over.

All that weird stuff and realities and sun explosions and alien contact will arrive at a massive scale... but for the ones that actually do something about it... and at the scale I'm talking about, Joe Rogan and his video will be something little compared to the media.

P.S. 2012 is a GREAT year to push for the legalizations of drugs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IDAlzjgBC0 please don't criticize me, just watch it, take the information and make you OWN conclusions.
If you disagree with any theory or information on 2012 just consider this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKMdNaVr9o0
Sir Terrence McKenna: "and what is real: is you, and your friends, and your associations, your highs, your orgasms your hopes your plans your fears... and were told. no. we're unimportant, we're peripherial. get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that. and then your a player, (but) you dont even want to play that game? (well) you want to re-claim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers: who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash thats being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world. ¿where is that at?"

"But now technology throws a curve. and the curve is that we live so long, that we figure out what a scam this is. we figure out that what your supposed to work for isn't worth having, we figure out that our politicians are buffoons, we figure out that professional scientists are reputation building gravitating weasels. we discover that all organizations are corrupted by ambition. we figure. it. out... and as you come to see that you are alienated you realise that culture is not your friend."
