Well, not sure if I'm qualified to answer in this but I can assure you, I certainly didn't read hardly anything anyone else posted aside from the main topic.
It seems they both have to do with taking you out of the 'known' world.
Having left this world before, letting go of contemporary ties and egoistic assets, fear of leaving this world naturally, inevitably disintegrates.
One may also find a sort of 'trust' or 'faith' after having return from a harrowing or gruesome journey, perfectly intact (some say otherwise ).
Let's face it though, fear of the unknown is normal and has helped us survive for many ages. The breakthroughs happen when we let go and search beyond.
Namaste! "Think more than you speak" "How do you get rid of the pain of having pain in the first place? You get rid of expectations" "You are everything that is. Open yourself to the love and understanding that is available." "To see God, you have to have met the Devil." "When you know how to listen, everyone becomes a guru." " One time, I didn't do anything, and it was so empty... Almost as if I wasn't doing anything. Then I wrote about it. It was fulfilling."

In this link, they explain that Psilocybin, can possibly help relieve the ANXIETY of death that terminal Cancer patients would face. Interesting article. More imaginative mutterings of nonsense from the old elephant!
