Thank you for all of your advice, I genuinely appreciate it. Next time, I will be more careful. Like I said, I'm gonna stick to growing my shrooms for awhile. The next time I post an experience of mine on this forum, the story you hear will be a good one. POADS is gone!

Never ever ever rush in, You are not toying with your everyday recreational drug. Make sure your extraction is what its supposed to be (I cant stress the importance of this). Relax! Take time, You have all the time in the world. Get a milligram scale so you know how much you'll have in your pipe and ease in if you feel like it. Listen to yourself! remember set & setting! Get someone to watch over you if you think things might get out of hand. I hope all the best for your future journeys oh also, the gasoline taste might come from burning the DMT instead of evapping it. When it burns instead of evaporating, DMT tastes really harsh. Also all the "crackhead shakes" sometimes come along with spice, some here have named it the DMT shakes. Relax and surrender, what else can you do? If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn't.

So we all learn from our mistakes. Thats a part of growing! Research helps us to learn what others have learned so we dont have to make that mistake ourselves. I think the best thing you can do is step back, evaluate, plan, exacute and enjoy. Sorry if we all jumped on you! We just care about you, us and the spice. Goodluck! ))) there was a story on the net of someone overheating the spice and it blowing up in flames all over them. They got burnt so bad they had to have their hands sewn to their stomache so the skin would heal. This sounds like it was from naptha left in the spice! I dont think spice flames like that, but I have burnt it trying to torch it on a premelt and the flame went up about 2-3 inches. So I think it is pretty flamable. Done: THC - LSD - MESC - MDMA - Shrooms - DMT / Want:Hyperspace travel - World Peace Respect, intention, meditation, inhalation, observation, analyzation, respect.

reckless indeed.. but apart from all that, I'm interested in the "elephant people". Did they look anywhere near this:
To me this picture by the artist Maura Holden seems to fit your description well. Can I ask how your interaction with them went? any communication? how many of them? did all look the same? they male/female? .. Just curious :>

I may have seen the elephant people for 10 seconds, so I really don't remember much. But unfortunately the "elephant people" I saw did not look like that. It appears in the painting, that person is wearing a mask. The ones I saw were not wearing masks, or any clothes, and they had pink skin, much like that of a pig. Their "trunks" were not ridged like in the painting, rather they were floppy, kind of like a flacid penis but longer (sorry, best analogy I could come up with!) The elephant people had snouts at the end of their trunks, which was how they ate food. I can't really recall specific details like number or fingers or their language or anything like that. There were 3 distinct elephant people if I remember correctly though. Their planet was a hot and dry one, basically a big desert. They were not as advanced in technology as humans are, they seemed to be around where the Egyptians were at. That's honestly all I remember. It could have just been utter imaginative bull shit. I have no idea. Either way it was pretty cool. POADS is gone!

I'd imagine this is during extraction not from smoking with residue naphtha in the dmt, minute amounts of naphtha wouldn't burn that badly. Black then white are all I see in my infancy. Red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me, lets me see. There is so much more and it beckons me to look though to these, infinite possibilities. As below so above and beyond I imagine, drawn outside the lines of reason. Push the envelope. Watch it bend.

It is as it is man.. We all make mistakes.. Albeit pretty big ones at times! I, in no way condone the behavior of the OP, But for us as Nexians to not accept and instead criticize the reality of whatever happened is, in itself, deeply paradoxical. The nexus is about love and kindness, no matter what happens! With love p.s. Poads, did you ever go back and make peace with the spice? Whenever you are immersed in compulsive thinking. You don't want to be where you are. Here, Now.

p.s. Poads, did you ever go back and make peace with the spice?
Of course I did. This thread is over 2 years old. I was a 19 year old college freshman at the time of that writing. Why else would I still be here? I had no idea what I was getting into. I wasn't confident in my extraction process, so I got nervous and rushed through it. The naphtha container said it was "fast evaporating" so I assumed I didn't have to wait a long time for it to dry. I was a noob, what can I say? I have had several, more responsible, experiences since that initial stumble. I don't think I've ever gotten "crackhead shivers" from using DMT since. That's not to say I haven't had any tough experiences, I certainly have. But they were the result of getting my ass kicked from tripping to hard, not from unsafe consumption. Like I said before, I've come a long ways in over 2 years. I'm sure all of us have in our own ways. This memory is bittersweet. On one hand it's hard to believe how ignorant I was. But on the other hand, it's nice to see how far I've come. At least that trip can serve as an example of what not to do. POADS is gone!

Have you met the elephant people again? This thread made me realize that i've met them before (or someone similar). It was in an Ayahuasca ceremony. There where alot of spirits building some kind of network/protection sphere around the participants. Among the spritis i remember to see this kind of 'elephant spirit' looking directly in my eyes (the others where busy building stuff).

Right on. A bad experience is still experience, regardless.
