So, it's been cloudy as of late here where I live, and while spending time curled up under a blanket with a good book is nice, I'm starting to feel it's time to go out in the woods with some allies.

I was wondering what tripping when it's cloudy would be like, and then what all kinds of different weathers would be like. So, to that end:

What's your favorite weather for tripping?

I would have to say a sunny day in early Spring, when all the trees are just starting to bud out and you can feel the incredible swell of life that is just about to explode. There's a tension in the air that is palpable and beautiful. A reminder that life is happening all the time.

I don't know what my cloudy, fall trip will bring. A lot more meditation on endings and what it means to wrap something up. Maybe come to terms with some mortality things.

Blessings

If your outside surrounded by trees take a big leaf, obscure the sun with it, and look. It is truly amazing to see, even when sober

Snow and ice can be really interesting to look at while tripping.

Also, around Christmas time, I used to walk around and look at all the Christmas lights while on LSD.

Tripping while taking care of the campfire, or even while just staring at it Pleased

Also, there is a lot more to see in a cloudy sky than in a clear blue one...

Thunderstorms, if you can stay dry at least, are always very enjoyable...

tripping when its cloudy is pretty amazing.. in terms of day tripping my preference lies with a nice sunny day with a few fluffy clouds visible, but its also incredibly deep being outside during a storm. i remember one mushroom trip in heavy rain, and while I was dancing I felt like I was the creator force controlling the elements as both the rain and the wind seemed to effortlessly sway with my body.. all times of day have their own beauty for psychedelics imo

My kind of thread Thumbs up

I love the fall. I love right now. Low 60s, high 50s. The color change of the leaves is beautiful. The air is crisp, crystal clear. Some sun with clouds. <3 Plus fall is very nostalgic for me in terms of psychedelics/my life.

Perfectly agree. I remember crawling in between a pile of leaves in fall during a great mushroom trip Big grin Lovely season as long as it is not too cold.
Clouds are amzing as well... Those big fluffy ones.

I've never tripped during the day, but I would like to. Just so many daytime obligations...sigh.

However, I do really enjoy a silent night with the full moon, lying in the grass looking at the stars. Makes me cry. My god it's beautiful.

I have done it in every possible weather condition you can imagine from huddling under rock overhangs in thunderstorms to sub zero deep snow in the middle of nowhere at night.

Cloudy weather can be ok but can be weird sometimes I cant explain it.
I have thought alot about how weather can effect a trip and think that its our preconceived
perceptions of weather and mood that can have an effect. At some point dose wise weather becomes irrelevant but if your working in nature and slowly dialing up the dose, weather plays a significant role.

For me there is the ideal day, its just a feeling,
its in the fall with blue skies and big puffy white clouds, not too hot not too cold,
the leaves are changing the forest is beautiful.

there's a feeling that your connecting to all those that have come before like joining
in the continuation of all beautiful past trips of others. Its a precious fleeting moment
a glimpse of the divine. Past future all blended togethor in one exquisite moment.

this captures the vibe very well:

I had an amazing LSD trip about 15 years ago during a snowstorm and winter and I still remember it as one of the highlights of my life. It was such an amazing and beautiful experience; impossible to put into words.

I don't really smoke DMT outside (not much nature around here where there isn't people around) and I prefer to smoke it in a dark room.

I wish I had a place to smoke DMT outside in nature and not be super paranoid about who may randomly show up.

I like tripping during a sunny day with some clouds scattered in the sky. The sunlight allows me to appreciate all the colors and details in the world while maintaining a positive demeanor, and the clouds can make for some interesting sights in their own right as well as adding contrast to the sunlight. I like sunset the most for obvious reasons. When I first started smoking DMT, I would have sunset smoke sessions on my back porch that were sublime.

There's a particular kind of day - it all has to do with the lighting - and it doesn't come around all so often. It's a strange kind of a day where there is great contrast in the lighting. You get it sometimes with sun showers, but any of you can probably relate to a time when it's sunny out, yet half the sky is an incredibly dark blue. The contrast is enchanting. While I've never tripped under these conditions, it would definitely be somewhat ideal for myself I would imagine.

Now, autumn. State parks have been my thing lately. I found a VERY scenic state park about two hours away from home that I've tripped at several times this year. It's sort of a pilgrimage for me. I'll be going back later this month when the leaves are changing. Summer is fine except the days that it's TOO hot...don't want to spend half the trip wiping sweat off my face.
