Poaching is an entrenched part of the picture. Historically, trespassing for the purpose of poaching has been as likely to be done by collectors working for the licensed distributors as by anyone else. It is a constant challenge for land owners who do not grant harvest leases.
We could have gotten upset but since we are trying to examine the impact of the real-world factors affecting peyote this was actually a valuable gift to our study.
