Hello fellow Nexians,

I have not been on the forum for a while, but I do hope I'll be able to get some answers concerning a friend of mine who has been struggling with what is called 'harm OCD' for more than 6 year now. He has tried almost everything in the book, to no avail.
Recently he was advised to look into psilocybin and came to me for help.

Two weeks ago we decided to do a mushroom ceremony with a 3.5g dried. We created a setting where he was comfortable, but after one hour he didn't feel a thing. Since he is on SSRI's we thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to up the dose. He had another 3g and didn't feel a thing. The only thing we could see was his dilated pupils.

In the meantime he has spoken with his psychiatrist (who is in the know about him trying psilocybin) and he agreed to try to lower the SSRI dosage and start microdosing. Now the question we have is what dosage should he start with microdosing? I want to mention this as well, he weighs about 120kg which I think also resulted in him not feeling a thing, and is also important to take into account for the microdosing.

Are there any of you who have had experience with microdosing and OCD, what would you suggest as a dosage to start with? The plan is to microdose and lower the SSRI every week by 5mg (as suggested by the psychiatrist). The SSRI's he takes are: 40 mg Paroxetine + 5 mg sipralexa and every evening he also takes the tricyclic antidepressants Prothiaden (75mg).
Oh yes, I am not so experienced with truffels, but I know they are less potent than mushrooms, but is there a equation to be made between the two in function of potency. Since mushrooms are illegal in our country he got truffels (which are not illegal) as he couldn't wait for his growing kit.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated!

Greetings
Elpo

1 dried gram of psilocybin mushrooms is good to start on and stay on for a while, but tolerance will have to be attened to at the go if one expects to keep it up.

taking tryptamine psychedelics with ssri is just a waste of time tbh. Two of my friends on SSRIs hardly felt anything. My friend came off SSRIs and started low dosing psilocybin and had great improvements in his mental disorders. Another friend has noticed mild improvement in her OCD from a few trips. I think that microdosing may help but potentially not as much as full integrative experiences with the substances.
