Quote:We donāt want to be wiped out by this governmentās actions. Our lands play a vital role in maintaining biodiversity. We are people, human beings, we have blood like you do, Mr President, weāre born, we growā¦ and then we die on our sacred land, like any person on Earth. Weāre ready for dialogue, but weāre also ready to defend ourselves. This sent shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes...the scope of inhumane practices and lack of respect that governments show in these areas is deeply saddening. What's even more saddening and scarier is how persistent the oppressors are, and how frequent such events have become. I feel those people's pain, or at least a fraction of it. I have never felt truly attached to the land I was born and raised on, but that land neither has anywhere near as much biodiversity as the Amazon rainforest, nor is of such crucial importance to countless ecosystems and the health of our planet. I hope the Brazilian government stops this madness and doesn't turn this invaluable land, and the phenomenal biodiversity it holds, into "profitable" agricultural land. What a horror...

I wonder what this will actually look like, whether it will be a full on blood bath massacre of shooting tribal people who have nothing more than sticks and arrows to fend for themselves or whether the Brazil military will just tell them to move on and make way. Im assuming the tribes will fight to the death.
Surely there are policies made by the UN by now to prevent this sort of thing? Would other countries step in perhaps?

The Brazilian Trump is making the real Trump look like a saint. What a fk'n disgrace. That's what happens when someone with a military background becomes a national leader. Exactly what I thought! It breaks my heart man, it really does... I usually don't feel so strongly negative about something to say I "hate" it, but the people that do this kind of shit...I hate them with a passion stronger than my love for anything. It's the Belo Monte Dam horrors all over again. If fate is grim and they do move in their lands, I hope they do it in a calmer way, and not slaughter thousands of innocent people... Something needs to be done. I just don't know how people like me can help from 15,000 kilometers away...

More and more, i am starting to believe that open democracies are defenceless against the cancer of fascism. There is little anybody can do to stop them. We all probably knew this was gonna happen the day he won the elections. I fear that the horrors awaiting the indigenous people of brazil is beyond the scope of our imagination. It's shamefull. The only upside is that fascism is inherently self-destructive. Fascism, after all, is an ideology of sore losers. They are the exact opposite of what they claim to be. THEY are the leaches and the traitors. Their tough talk, their ruthlessness, and display of masculinity are only poses to hide their weakness. If bolsonaro gets his way, there is a good chance that he will end like musolini did. I also feel sorry for endlessness. I believe he is from brazil.

It is very very sad indeed...
One fact to consider is the manipulation of information. Bolsonaro won in great part due to their whatsapp-based misinformation campaign using fake news, fake memes and so on. People focused on a hatred for the previous socialist political party in power, instead of actually looking at Bolsonaro himself and what he was truely standing for. This was part of the plan from Steve O'Bannon (who also worked on Trump's campaign and is trying to promote far-right politics around the world), who was hired by the Bolsonaro family to help get him in power.
This goes to show that schools AND parents are missing their fundamental job which is to teach kids critical thinking, to be able to analyze information, separate truth from lies, find accurate sources of information, etc.
One day, if humanity is still here, we will read about these days and wonder how the heck did we let this happen, sort of like now we read about Hitler and wonder how could people let it get to that point.
I can only hope there is not too much damage done (even though already a lot of damage has been done), that things can be reversed after Bolsonaro's term has finished, and that people realize how horrible this has been and that this helps leading the world into a positive transition in the future.

Yes, bannon and other american spin-doctors are behind a lot of far-right movements around the world. The ridiculous "replacement theory" (the idea that there is a jewish conspiracy to kill the white race in europe by means of immigration from africa) also came from american far-right media like breitbart, before it became mainstream among the european far-right.
But i'm sure that day will come, endlessness, that we look back at all of this, and it will all seem like a very bad joke.
They WILL eventually destroy themselves. They can win a lot of battles, and let's hope it won't be too many battles, but they cannot win the war.
Populism is parasitic in nature. And authoritarianism even more so. They cannot produce wealth and prosperity by themselves. They have to take it. Wich is why their collapse is innevitable.

I feel a lot like those indigenous folk right now. I was just thinking and eventually it led me to picture what it would feel like to live there and then have to get a job. What tf is a job? I think thatās a real good āmemeā type image that can translate how far detached weāve become with our toys and concrete. Like a scale that could explain some peopleās difficulties adapting to the American Dream even though āthey seemed so happy, I never would have guessed he was being slowly tortured inside.ā
I just donāt get why we canāt, if just for a moment, collectively snap out of whatever daze weāre in. All you have to do is just stop.
Actually I get it. I donāt get why so many people are going along with it I guess.

Actually I get it. I donāt get why so many people are going along with it I guess. The shackles of the illusion are durable, my friend...some people break free with ease, others are a slave their entire lives. I will allow myself the freedom to share with you what a friend had to say about this situation, which I agree 100% with. Quote:The Bolsonaro situation, as well as the election of strong men around the world including our own Mr. Trump has been troubling. It does seem to be a vulnerability in democracies to bend under pressure to the loud voice and even have education circumvented by opinion. However, like what's happening to Trump and Netanyahu, unless the rule of law is totally suspended, the autocrats will be brought down because they are really just rhetorical cleptocrats. The vulnerability of minorities, in all cases is troubling. The fascists always need a scape goat population and that's why we need to fight them.
