Hi friends,

Recently I noticed some weird looking white hairs on what I believe to be the roots of one of my cacti. You can see the cactus itself, as well as the things I am talking about in the attached pictures.

Can someone tell me what this is, and what should I do about it (if I need to do anything at all).

Also an ID would be good, because I've sent pics of this cactus to 4 people, and they couldn't agree what it was. Some say it's a Peruvianus, others say it's a rare hybrid of Peruvianus and something else.

If I need to post the pic in the cacti ID thread let me know.

Those are just the cactus' own root hairs I'd say.
