Think this sums it up

"The human body is constantly shedding energy: mechanical energy is transferred to the surroundings by the muscles, and even when perfectly still, heat energy is being conducted to the surrounding air. The laws of thermodynamics imply that this process cannot continue indefinitely without the lost energy being replaced. The extraction of energy from lipids, saccharides, and proteins in the animal body is fairly well understood, and no other supply has been found which could possibly supply the energy required for the continuation of life. Anatomically, the only route by which these chemicals can be delivered to the respiratory processes is through absorption into the blood. There are no known reagents contained in air alone that could possibly deliver the kind of energy required for the sustenance of life. There is no photosynthetic process known to occur in the human body, nor could any conceivable such process supply energy to the body at the required rate, given the surface area and reflectivity of the human body. Tragically, there is ample evidence in history and the current time of the known effects of starvation and dehydration.

To explain their claimed ability, Breatharians explain that the energy for life is supplied by mystical or supernatural forces, such as Prana. Breatharian.info offers this explanation “for the scientifically minded”:

One explanation, purely scientific, which comes from a nuclear physic[sic] says as follows: the organism consists of tissues, which are built of chemical molecules, and next these molecules are built of atoms. Atoms consist of electrons and protons, which are built of smaller elements. As the result of this way of looking for an origin element, we reach the point, where the matter does not exist. There, we have only something, which we can call vibrational whirls of energy. […] All the matter which exists in the Universe, including the human body, is comprised of whirls of vibrational energy. […] There are centers in the brain, which manage body energy and chemistry […]. In this way, the organism lives and builds itself using these whirls of energy.

Skeptics will note that this explanation is pure Pseudoscience; it uses scientific terms such as energy in non-precise ways, and contradicts known facts discovered by science. Particularly, it does not address the problem of the continued loss of energy from the body. "

Seems like a dangerous practice to me...

Scam plain and simple. No one can go that long without food or drink.

The explanation is even more absurd. Human beings do not have the internal machinery to get energy in the form of sugar from the sun. They can't. Even if you genetically engineer chloroplasts into a human being it most likely wouldn't work.

I believe people can do things like that.... but I'm not sure if this guy did or not.

I believe the Buddha did, as well as many others.

I believe ten days is possible without food and water. But 10 years? No way. Your body would have so many nutrient deficiencies its not even funny.

This doesn't make any sense to me...How could the human body possibly survive without food, nevermind without water. Starving yourself does feel nice but you will get hurt if you do it too much. How many anorexic or bulimic people die every year or require medical attention? People die from malnourishment in poverty stricken countries or if they are poor. It invites disease and sickness as you get weaker and weaker...But somehow by joining these "leaders" you can survive like they do. Well doesn't that sound familiar, kind of like every other fail religion I've been presented with.

Quote:
We know people starve to death in Africa, and much as I feel for these people, I know it's unnecessary had they got the right attunement.

This just digs in badly no matter which way I read it. That's a completely ignorant statement, like it's their fault for not joining this "cult".
We're the new hippies, we get high on life, not drugs.
We thrive in drama, and bathe in activeness.
Fashion is a religion and vocabulary defines you.

Politicians load the gun, and celebrities fire it, killing all humankind.

I would imagine they are trying to figure out how hes tricking everyone so he can be revealed as the scam artist that he is and stop convincing those who are desperate for some kind of spiritual satisfaction to join his cult. Obviously its dangerous.

Its 100% ignorant of human physiology. Its also a dangerous lie.

Why? Its physiologically impossible. Your body NEEDS things like glucose to survive. Your bodies metabolism cannot stop by meditation. You can slow things down but its impossible to stop it without dieing. Every heart beat you have every thought you think consumes energy. If that energy is not replaced you die.

Burnt, I've read many of your post's and I must say, you don't take much to the supernatural ideas. Have a little imagination, we are made of particles of vibrational somethings, and the body functions in such a complex way that one could never say as to what it's limits are. Yeah a lot of science has shown that the body functions in specific ways when fasting, but for the very few people who are connected to their true source, their true self, their bodies will most likely function in a different way. Like the buddha, this man and others. Hmm, I guess all I really want to say is that; just like not being critical enough, being overly critical can be a hindrance to learning also. Being overly critical(by which I mean, not leaving room for the 'unknown' possibilities but instead trying to fit things into already known constructs) is like getting lost in a web of concepts and trying to find your way out by making more concepts. This man went ten days without food or water, obviously something is going on, and if you want to say he simply scanning people, then your simply saying that he doesn't fit into your web of concepts so then it must be a scam. Where is the imagination, tough childhood? haha, jk, all in good nature. Just thought I put in my two cents.

its not that burnt is close minded, its that this is obviously bullshit, as in he could easily prove that it is real, yet he dosen't. Any a few have came and got caught lieing or cheating before him, if he can go a decade, why only test him for 10 days?

I'm a scientist so its in my nature to be critical and skeptical. I also notice how easy it is to trick people who may not fully understand a scientific concept into believing something that is claimed to have a scientific basis when in fact it doesn't. Therefore I try to bring up these points to keep people thinking. I don't mean to be that guy who spoils the party so understand I do it in the name of good fun and knowledge.

Okay, I hear yeah, I just think some things science will never be able to understand because science is mind based, while somethings are no-mind based. Just me.

I don't think it is obviously bullshit. I think that science simply hasn't found an explanation so therefore, due to poor foresight, scientist simply turn to the the most likely explanation that fits into their already made constructs, that it is bullshit. Sure it's an easy answer, and it fits with everything else, yeah but maybe the body does actually have another form of energy. That is what I'm saying, there could be something going on that science hasn't been able to measure or understand yet, but one day they might. Just a thought, I find it to be more plausible then some old dude trying to scam other people with camera's and materiel objects.
PEACE
