I got me here some cebil and I'm currently in the process of doing a small extract just to test the quality. I'm going to be without a grinder for a few days so I figured as I was only using a small quantity I'd just hand shell them before toasting as I find it much easier to slide off the husks when the seeds are flexible. Damn crumbley annoyance after being toasted.

Then I realised some of the inners are green:

As you can see the ones on the left have that green look, these seeds seem to occur about 3/25 in the batch so they are a relative minority, some being completely green, whereas others only have slightly green areas.

I remember the first cebil I purchased when ground, looked almost entirely very, very green and after one A/B yielded a product like black tar which I couldn't seem to do very much with and had very little effects, non of which were psychedelic.

Then other times I've had a nice yellow seed powder after grinding which have given me some workable results.

I imagine that I've always had a few greenish seeds in the mix because there's always been a hint of green discolouration among the seeds, despite most cebil inners being a nice yellow colour.

Anyway I was thinking about *sigh* continuing to shell a few more of these seeds until I have a good few green seeds to extract and compare to an extract of the nicer looking seeds in an equal amount.

So if anyone can chime in and tell me what the green is then I'd be very greatful, in the mean time I'll be trying to find out if the greening is of any entheogenic significance.

p.s.I may even see if there's anything in the husks as I've got the bastards seperated.

Ok. Got me a grinder now and have ground up some of the brightest coloured, shelless cebil I have ever seen.

I still don't think I have enough green seeds to get a good amount of alkaloids for comparison, so I'll continue to hand shell a few seeds here and there whenever I have nothing else better to do.

Good Job, mate!

ILPT hasn`t get many experience with cebil, but he definitelly remember some seeds beeing green.
he doesn`t think those green ones are any good. he actually thing these are spoilled (mould, fungus disease)
He seen some similar discoloration on nuts which were spoiled.
eg. mould on peanuts creating small ammounts of hepatotoxic substances.
But he could be wrong
Don`t wanna scare you buddy, just please be careful.
As a kemist I never met ILPT in physical form and never talk to him. He share his wisdom, trough my mind, telepathicly only. Please don`t prosecute me, for his possible illegal activities. He is bonkers about chemistry and doesn`t even exist in this primitive reality !!!

What extraction tek are you using?

i tried rebbarons the other day and for some reason [maybe i wasn't careful enough] i got zip from it.

any recommendations for a quick easy reliable tek from experience?

there seem to be varied reports on limonene methods [although it seems safer chemical wise], and a few people seem to have probs with rebbarons.

Well after removing the shells and picking out all the green seeds, my results look very much the same as always... so nice waste of time there.

I'm getting a lot out of a little though, so they're good seeds all the same Smile

hey soulfood<
ever think that the green color in some of the seeds is simply a sighn thgat they are alive and viable???
I remember shelling some of theses as well and thats what it looked like to me..prolly chlorophyl...which may be interfeering with your extraction..just a thought

I just figured they were seeds that were thinking about germinating at some point in their life. I really didn't notice any difference from the extract when I removed these seeds from the bunch, though that's only in terms of appearance and texture as I fucking nuked everything Sad careless me. But mainly I was looking for difference in oils and after a fumerates precipitation the results seemed identical. May be different with a more crude extract though... who knows.
