When we take psychedelics we sometimes get information about the ego, consciousness, enlightenment, free will, etc.
And allot of people end up with more questions than before.

So comes the questions to mind:

Do we really know more then ordinary people?

If we do, how do we live life better with this information?

Are there really people becomming enlightened and ego-less with the help of psychedelics?

Or are we just thinking we know it better and just getting high all the time?

Everybody who wanna share their oppinion plz do.

I will start by saying that I think that the universe gives you signals all the time how to make changes in your life and what you are doing wrong, trying to bring you to a lives path of spiritual purpose. It can be all the small things (or big things) in life like getting sick, meeting somebody, getting a phone call, to be startled,... , it could be anything.

When we take psychedelics suddenly the universe can give us a whole bunch of information in a form of 'suddenly realising something'. So you end up with these realisations without going trough the proces of doing something, failing in it and learning the lessons that go with it.

But I think that getting information trough psychedelics can be so powerfull and can be to much at once.

Most of us here know that we don't have free will, that everything happens for a reason, that our ego is just an illusion, ...

But knowing these things, does it not gives us the desire to become something else than we are now? We are knowing these things, not living it.

Maybe it was better we first lived a life (or part of) listening to the universe's signals and
learning some of those things by ourself.

Then if we felt the need to deepen ourself in a realisation we could choose to take a psychedelic with that intent.

How do we live life better now we have this information? I think just letting go of the need to control your thoughts, emotions, desires and the outcomes of your life. Letting go of becomming some being who is more enlightenend, spiritual, ego-less.

Just be yourself!

hello there,

I'll try to share with you, what I think, believe and do in the life, to enhance our "proximity universe".

Taking psychedelics is not for everybody, or maybe not à certain time of the life of people.
It's not mandatory too, to be enlighted, properly taken, it can help for.

As we know / think / believe / feel everything is connected to us, we are a part of this universe, this universe who can send message, share knowledge, enlight a problem / things / incident / people, we're a part of it and all we contribute to send message, share knowledge to other.
The fact is that everybody on this earth and not only, receive message or knowledge, but it's not mandatory that the people, ear, understand this message or knowledge. Sometimes all we are to much inside that "society", or too much obsessed by work or something else, we don't ear about the message we received (by a customer, signs, by an asking or an event).

I don't believe we know more than people who don't take psychedlics, the fact is that truth is not hidden for people who want to see truth (as god, elves, spirit and so on).
In my opinion, a good way to enhance the life of our, is too share what we know or understood that can help our "proximity universe". Sometimes it can be difficult to speak to someone to help, if it is, it's maybe not the good time to ask for it (for him/her and you).
I believe, when we speak about conscious, truth, there is a real deal with 'the knower" or "enlighted ppl" that's is the time for you to say the truth or not. I believe in an discussion, if you don't find all good words and idea to speak about and be understood, maybe we are near the truth but we don't know entirely (disregarding ego emotions, constraints from today's life, bad stuff /energies..)
My belief is to think that for the life in this material world, you need an ego. Without ego in this world you can't stay .. Because your consciousness is attached to the spiritual universe, and your ego need to interact with this material world. The fact is to have a good sized ego, not more, not less, wich can be good reviewed if you want to send message to others and be listened. Then your spiritual message can successfully pass. Our ego is the key to translate message comming from universe to other people.
I believe, thinking we know better than other is having a kind of superior ego than other ppl.
Everybody got access to this conscious universe, knowing unverse, love universe, the key is just to pull the switch on for ours. I think it's us the gateway to pull on the witch for ours. Sometimes it can work rapidly, sometimes you have to take more time, effort to help others seeing the truth. This is the way shaman an other kind of energistic medicine act, a gateway to open door, seeing the light.

I hope my message could be understood (not so easy to speak profound things in not your native language) and i apologize for all typo / words mistake. For sur, theses word engage only me and my belief based on my experience, feelings.
Cheers all and all good things for you.

I feel very fortunate to have had some of the life experiences I've had, combined with the expanding effects of having taken a fairly extensive amount of psychedelic experiences in varied situations during formative periods of my life. I do feel that there are certain things I "get" that I wouldn't had I not had these and that I wouldn't feel them as deeply as I do. You know- getting the punchline of the "great cosmic joke" or whatever.

And then there are the truly transformative experiences that have definitely shaped me over time, but I feel the greatest agent of understanding on a deep level has been the suffering I've gone through as a result of being addicted and coming out the other end in recovery.

The seeming senselessness of a brutal addiction, is impossible to understand for those who havent endured it, I get that. I was a raging criminal who didn't give a f who he hurt as long as he got his fix for a long time. I brutalized the love and trust of all those around me, but there were reasons I behaved that way.

I credit psychs for helping pull me out of that, and for being me a beacon of light that I could see in the darkest pit to aim for. I do feel that I am "better" than alot of the McDonald's eating, logo-sportswear wearing, cable show addicted wage slaves that seem to be the major constituent of my society. But without having gone through all the shit (sorry, it is what it is), I don't think the psychs alone could give me that perspective.

I don't know if any of this blablabla of mine is pertinent or of any value to you, but as for how to do it- how to live the "message"?

I just like to tell people when they ask that-and I honestly do this to my best ability (which is far from perfect)- is to simply align my actions with love and my thoughts with understanding. That is an axiom that along with a few others that has served me well. better than the ones that ran through my head chasing dope.

The last of your questions utterly depends on you. I do have the acquaintance of many who are just "getting high",and even those doing so that claim to be enlightened, but I wouldn't call them that, they only do so themselves. But often even hedonistically lots of people get something out of psychs that can benefit them in creative ways. Or not.

It is up to the individual to use them deliberately with intention and have conviction in what they can do as agents of change.

The EGOIC and TRANSCENDENT are operational reference frames, mental models if you will. Both are useful for a more "complete" apperception of the mysterium tremendum>>>LIFE. Life lived in a material form has us typically in the EGOIC(default) frame. It is functional to be so. Subjective/Objective processing of reality allows us to persist across time keeping flesh on bone.

Psychedelics allow the average schmo to indeed EXPERIENCE what is described by the TRANSCENDENT. Many people are taught about this via a religious or spiritual tradition, the exception being those raised by staunch atheistic, primacy of matter rationalists. The problem in the modern era, particularly in the West, is that this reference frame(transcendent) is conveyed utterly DEVOID of actual experiencing. While mystical experiencing can be catalyzed variously, psychedelic plant medicines have been and remain the MOST ergonomic, reliable and egalitarian means for engendering intense mystic experiencing, on average. In truth, alternative methods(meditation, ordeals, drumming, ecstatic dance...etc) were actually developed as ADJUNCTS to mystic experiencing INITIALLY catalyzed by entheogens. Humanity, in general, has become ignorant of this near certainty.

The value comes from recognizing BOTH reference frames as useful and informative. It lends nuance and validity to the transpersonal and unitive aspects of REALITY. It allows one a spectrum betwixt the EGOIC and TRANCENDENT poles, across which a more "accurate" description of life transpires.

It is indeed a tool kit. Both aspects are valid and "truthful". The very essence of humanity has been about leveraging the transformative capacity of tool use. All jobs are facilitated by the right tools. Likewise, the "job" of life, is facilitated, enriched and made more "whole" through appropriate tool use.

Peace

The more responsibility one takes for one's own life, the better a soul one becomes...

And in that simple, but terribly difficult process alone, one makes the whole world a better place, one little, tiny day at a time.

Freedom's so hard
When we are all bound by laws
Etched in the scheme of nature's own hand
Unseen by all those who fail
In their pursuit of fate

I do think I know more then ordinary people who have never had psychedelic experiences. I'm not any more special the next guy because we are all one, part of nature or gaia. There is so much ignorance in the world and many are willfully ignorant. I really don't have a lot of faith or hope in humanity currently.

I believe that I have free will, but that many others are so blinded by illusion and dumb from contaminated, carcinogen-containing diets that they are in effect powerless over their very lives, lives dictated by media and television programs, social conventions, and the expectations of others. People who willingly feel they must work in this industrial paradigm in order to make themselves useful to a mostly destructive society that just keeps polluting the planet and exploiting 3rd world countries.

It used to be that the elders were wise and cared about future generations. Now we are left with these scrooges, old fossils who only seek monetary success and social approval above all. The psychedelics showed me how my father was like this and how I needed to stand up for myself and challenge the status quo. I want to live my life to the fullest.

Yes ego-loss is a real thing. I have only experienced it once on a high dose of ayahuasca. I realized that I was the first in many generations of my homo Sapien ancestors to have a powerful psychedelic experience.

There is some "cosmic joke" about our existence. I was shown that it was no coincidence that humans has proliferated across the planet and become the dominant species. We were given large brains for a reason.

Ego is important for us to prosper and survive in our earthly existence. The messages I recieved from those beings has been transformative and life changing, earth shattering. The psychedelic experience is also incomprehensible to me. Epsecially ones joruneys to other realities. I often feel the memories returning to me but it is not complete.

Now physics is telling us that objects can exist in two places simultaneously and that a brick wall is mostly empty space, yet it appears to be solid. Similarly there is a black hole at the center of the universe, and a universe inside that hole and so on. Perhaps the universe really is infinite. Therefore, the world we perceive is very different from the one modern physics has envisioned.

I am at a turning point in my life, and want to do something radical and to live more sustainably. I am a guy that hates authorities and hierachiess. I am truly and egalitarian and anarchist. I dislike the corporate parasites which rule the lives of many. I am an idealist.

I know many will die without having any kind of a "relgiious experience" and yet they attend church daily or have strong "ethics" or "morals" about "harmful" drugs and "degenerettes" or "freaks" like us. Boy are they wrong. But the mainstream oppinion regarding this is hopefully starting to change.
