you can if you do an a/b and use d-limo as the solvent and then use the FASW to pull the dmt from it...

what SWIM would do is...do the acid extraction first with vinegar or citric acid or whatever...filter solids...base with sodium carbonate..and pull with d-limo then pull from the d-limo with FASW...then freebase the spice fumarate...pull with iso or acetone..acetone wont pull the dmt n-oxide but i THINK 99%iso will...evap for freebase

this sounds great. swim tried an a/b once and was happy to be pulling liquid from liquid, minus the solids. getting lye out of the equation seems worthwhile, too.Smile
swim is still trying for salts, but is swiy saying that fasw can be based with sodium carbonate, then add 99% iso, shake, separate, and evap alcohol for fb spice? swim thought it would all go into solution, and not separate at all.
swim has dried some iso with mag sulfate, so would give it a try...

in case anyone was wondering... this tek was successfully completed following a naptha stb, got quite a bit of jungle, in fact, the nn and jungle numbers were similar.

EDIT: to be clear, I shouldn't have wrote jungle as might have been some leftover nn from the naptha.

Also finally tested freebase from this tek +++++++ very very nice thanks jorkest

yay! thanks for the report lbeing

and what im saying is Biopsylo....is to pull with FASW...add sodium carbonate..then dry(this is only if you want freebase only)...then pull with ISO

Wouldn't it be better to dry the fumarate and then basify? Letting a solution with dmt freebase evaporate seems like it might lead to a lot of oxidation...

EDIT: You know just as per your approach itself!

hmm..well you have to let it dry anyway but i guess its less water that is evaporating..so who knows

so thats the answer for n-oxide then jorkest(chacruna ex) - sodium carbonate - freebasing pulled with iso - ?

obviously it must be dry alcahol thats used - would methanol be better for this ? does it contain any water ?
how are your imaginary staplers managing to smoke the final product - doesnt n-oxide make a horrible tasting vapour ?

hmmm im thinking iso should work to pull the n-oxide...ethanol would work better i would think...just because its safer...but something you could do is either separate the n-oxide if you arent going to eat it...

SWIM was just wondering, with this extraction tek, how come after the fumarate step, once freebasing with sodium carbonate, the final product is still SO brown?
SWIM was under the impression that in converting the limonene pull to fumarate, the plant fats would remain in the non-polar fraction (limonene) ??

how can this be? Swim was expecting to see pure white crystals?

its brown caus it has jungle in it - do a naptha freeze precip for white spice.

During the salting phase, does anyone end up with sticky yellow Fumarate salts that can ball up on their own?

SWIM got this and tried to basify as mentioned but thick yellow globules will not dissolve in the solution after 20 minutes of shaking, SWIM added more water + sodium carbonate and it still won't dissolve.

A thin layer of yellow goo rests on top of the water.

Anyone encounter this?

absolutely...just get a table knife and squish the globs so that the basic water can come in contact with them..freebase dmt isnt very soluble in basic water...so it will tend to puddle up a bit

Thanks Jorkest, good to know!

Some ended up on the side of the mixing vessel and some spilled a little on the floor, OH NO! Not more DMT sacrificed to the floor again! Lol...

Lessons learned:

Mix the sodium carbonate, water & fumarate on the evaporation dish that is going into the dehydrator. Seems that freebase likes to stick to a vessel when you pour the solution out.

Mix the solution NEAR the food dehydrator! Carrying a thin evaporation dish across a couple of rooms is just asking for spilled DMT Embarrased

Now if only we could have a Floor Recovery Tek that included separating foot grime from freebase! Laughing

SWIM once had a friend from out of town who spilled over a FINAL acidic-water evaporation dish of a large amount of Cactus Skin extract in it! Days of work.

Talk about being furious! Using the advanced Paper Towel Absorption method much of the liquid was pulled out of the carpet into paper towels and rung out into a new vessel. Filtered out the floor particles & evaporated to yield 1.5g tan mescaline!

SWIM was wondering what everyone is using for a container while separating the limonene from the lye water? It's hard to get all the limonene off by decanting and even with a pipette there's still some left behind. It seems you'd want something with a tall, thin neck so the top layer will be easier to pipette. SWIM has used his buchner filter flask and it worked pretty good as you can decant through the little glass barb and pipette the rest, but it was hard to mix. Maybe he should just get a larger filter flask? It would be nice to have the filter available during extractions instead of sacrificing it for a makeshift container. So what does SWIY use? Any suggestions?
