Cactus is cheap. Pickling lime is cheap. Water, vinegar and carbonated water are all dirt cheap. The only thing that hurt's SWIM's wallet is d-limonene.

SWIM read in another thread about distilling used limonene easily, and SWIM would love to know how. He's never distilled anything before...

Any help would be appreciated.... by SWIM.

thanks

Any good organic chemistry book that goes over standard lab practices should give the procedure for distillation. The difficult expensive part will be constructing the apparatus. It can be a bit dangerous ie still explosion so do lots of research and make sure you completely understand the distillation process and follow all safety practices to a T. Not sure about distilling orange oil never looked into that.

limonene distills at 176C, i think.
(go with all glass setup, plastics and rubber may soften/warp)
under reduced pressure, you could distill it at a much lower temp (vac. distillation).

steam distilling limonene involves simple distillation of water with ground orange and lemon peels.
