Does anyone know the risks involved with smoking Changa (DMT with Caapi vine/leaf) whilst on anti depressants, Lexapro to be exact?

Unfortunately...the Caapi is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor which can produce a lethal rise in your blood pressure if you are on serotonin re-uptake blocking drugs like Lexapro. The combo can potentially give you a stroke or a bleed inside your brain or shut your kidneys down. Bad combo. DMT alone...is another story. SWIM takes a similar ssri...and has started smoking dmt without problems. Avoid the ayahuasca...

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE an SSRI ANTIDEPRESSANT WITH CHANGA!

I too take an SSRI (Venlafaxine) with Spice and it's fine but -

Caapi vine = MAOIs (harmine, harmaline, and tetrahydroharmine).

Lexapro = SSRI

therefore

Caapi + Lexapro = possible fatality.

Can't thank you enough guys... Am glad I have asked the right people! Will pass on this very important info to my girlfriend. She will be disappointed, but alive! : )
When you say spice (forgive my ignorance), is this a combo that can still get you to "break through" and if so what is this combination?

Spice refers to freebase dmt(Correct me if im wrong). What was said before which I think you missed, SSRIs and MAOIs dont mix. SSRIs + DMT = safe. Ayahuasca brews contain MAOIS, as do many plants. If you perform an extraction and get pure dmt, that is safe to use. Any confusion please continue questioning as this is a possibility of life/death.

DMT (Spice) ON ITS OWN will get you to breakthrough.

DMT (Spice) ON ITS OWN is OK with Lexapro.

DMT may also be smoked with any herb which is NOT AN MAOI

That is the important point.

DO NOT COMBINE LEXAPRO WITH AN MAOI (eg Caapi)

All of the advice given here has been correct. As PerPLexED says;

Any confusion please continue questioning . . .

Take care

Neuroscan, Transitory and Perplexed... Thanks loads for the information. Was very wary (now for even more obvious reasons), and will be sure to never let anyone I know mix these combination's. Again appreciate your concerns and prompt responses. Kind regards to you all : )

Rolling eyes Now I am starting to wonder about mixing MDMA or amphetamine with Lexapro.... Do they have any bad side effect's? Hopefully not.. Finally have a big weekend planned in the coming weeks with the little lady, and was certainly going to get on it but now we'll have to research this as well and see if she can have one at all? Any information you are able to give us will be very appreciated! : )

ive heard of people specifically taking SSRIs with MDMA to allow better recovery/better high...although...we still dont fully understand much about the medications let alone our brains so keep in mind you're taking a big risk, specially since youre not mixing MDMA, youre mixing Ecstasy, which could be anything from pipecleaner to ketamine to meth. So...continue searching and wish both you and your lady friend the best and safety
