Well I've been complaining about how I want to get my paws on some salvia for some time now. I finally acquired some actual seed as mentioned in another thread. I decided to only start 4 of them right off the bat while I make room for more plants. Its been exactly 2 weeks since surface sowing these in some happy frog. Pretty stoked to say as of today one has sprung to life so far . Been watching these like a hawk what seems like forever. Now I know this really doesn't mean squat because they are very fragile and temperamental at this stage but it definitely gives me hope for the remaining seeds. I will use this thread as my grow log as time goes on. Spaced Out 2 attached the following image(s): 20161108_064928.jpg (4,865kb) downloaded 413 time(s).

Amazing, awesome! New genetics are always needed Seeds don't seem to be nearly so rare and unviable as they were made out to be in the past. Make sure to trade some clones when it's old enough, or maybe ask someone for some Blosser or Hoffman/Wasson pollen and increase the gene pool by a lot Great work

Thanks everyone, yes I love growing things. Waiting for this little baby to grow, my pan cambos to fruit and my cannabis to finish up, a lot going on.
I've been on a break from everything for past couple of months, had my gallbladder removed and just been healing from that, pretty much back to normal now. I should have a smorgasbord of things here soon, lol.
I will definitely keep this updated as I'm pretty excited.
Peace everyone

Seeds don't seem to be nearly so rare and unviable as they were made out to be in the past. Well after the 6 week mark out of the 4 seeds I planted, all 4 have popped. I wasn't really expecting the last one to be viable but nevertheless I kept the soil moist and after mentioning to the others that I'm gonna just have to toss it out, believe it or not the next day it popped out of the soil. Been trying to build a good relationship with Sally This is 6 weeks: Spaced Out 2 attached the following image(s): 20161209_074659.jpg (7,039kb) downloaded 261 time(s). 20161209_074724.jpg (4,017kb) downloaded 260 time(s).

They are doing well, most of them are, one is stunted and growing super slow so we will see with that one. I stuck a blue dominant LED on them and it started turning them purple so I switched back to a T5 setup. 3 of them will be getting transplanted here in a couple days and then they should take off. Thanks for asking Spaced Out 2 attached the following image(s): 20170107_173721.jpg (3,884kb) downloaded 222 time(s).

Thanks for asking, and no worries friend you're not pestering me. They are doing well and getting big, they grew fast while I was on vacation and actually grew into the light or close enough to it that it affected the upper leaves with a type of light burn, I moved the light up and they are recovering well. Wow look at those beauties! They look very healthy and vigorous! You must be proud. Are you still growing with T5's or did you switch to LED yet? Also, what color temp have you been using for your lights? I finally got my grubby paws on a 10-pack of seeds and will be sowing in the coming days. I posted a request for advice in the salvia folder, specifically targeted at growing from seed since there seems to be far less info available compared to growing from cuttings. If you have anything to add I'd be all ears. Link below: https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=75407Thanks again! Nothing is no thing at all.

Oh yes I'm very proud to have made it this far with them, especially from seed! I'm back to the T5 lights, I switched to an all blue veg led and it started to turn the leaves purple, even with plenty of distance from the light. My t5 is a 24" model that has 4 bulbs, but I only keep 2 on, they don't seem to do well under more intense lighting. The bulbs are 6500k.
I responded to your other thread as well.

Forgot to add this, but the leaves are starting to get big, this will give you a size comparison. Spaced Out 2 attached the following image(s): 20170327_080813.thumb.jpg.8b9e3d3b46da1466fe4f752ec2cdce9e.jpg (37kb) downloaded 176 time(s).
