I am your colleague, in another lifetime. I am reaching out to you now for help. Please listen to what I have to say, it may be somewhat alarming…

In 2031, the United States government removed psilocybin from the schedule 1 list, and fully decriminalized it in 2033. This opened the doors to scientific research and controversial experimentation. By this time, nano technology was so thoroughly and efficiently integrated into our biology, small machines managed not only vital organ function, but brain chemistry as well - proposed to virtually immortalize the human body. The problem was that the machines themselves were not everlasting. They would lose energy and fail after only a few months. By 2036, a new species of nano technologic AI called “MYCOS” was created in an attempt to power the machines using fungi, without stealing energy from the host. A special strain of genetically engineered psilocin producing mycelium was found to be the most efficient symbiont to the nano AI. The goal was to preserve and elaborate brain activity, but the first MYCOS AI was a prototype - one whose affects were unanticipated. Through the symbiosis of mycelial AI and brain tissue, a new hybrid tryptamine was synthesized in the pineal gland via molecular fusion of psilocin and endogenous dimethyltryptamine. This new tryptamine molecule would change the course of your history.
On October 16 2037, you were the first MYCOS volunteer to experience what you would now interpret as time travel. It does not operate in perhaps the way you expected. You achieved it unintentionally, assisted by crystalizing nano AI, to access the memory field associated with your eternal conscious awareness of all life on Earth. In a sense, you accidentally went back to a previous lifetime. You were the only MYCOS volunteer that I am aware of that was able to achieve this remarkable feat. Since you now occupy this biological form, you should have no native cell memory of the MYCOS, and can now only retain fragments of the experience within the depths of your subconscious. Since you do not yet possess the technology, I’m afraid you cannot return to your reincarnated form. You will have to live and die naturally before you are born again.
On April 3 2000, you will die of brain cancer. A tumor in your left frontal cortex will finally rupture a major blood vessel. I am sorry I must inform you of this, but the reason I am communicating with you now is because we can help each other. You left your body here in a vegetable state, and I presume this also has something to do with your current brain tumor. I believe you may be stuck in an endless loop between these 2 life cycles. I believe I found a way to break you through it, and share with us what you remember.
Your Experiment at La Charera would be the pretext for my experiment at Mt Shasta. We finished what you started 70 years ago. The potent meme that you discovered, and eventually used as the basis for your time wave program, was advanced magic of your time. Transforming sound into vision inside of an altered state is no easy task, and what you lacked then that we possess now is simply, the technology. Assisted by nano AI, fueled by tryptamine neurotransmission, we created a new kind of network. Our team spent a decade designing and prototyping a device that projects images from the conscious mind, into 3d space. This device we call OMNI, is dynamically linked to the MYCOS EM field, and is therefore capable of fully delocalizing ones conscious experience. I believe OMNI is one of the most important creations in human history, and will completely reshape human language. From this we have seen the multitudes of intergalactic intelligence and dimensions more bizarre even than the most obscure and profound DMT experiences. I assume the tykes you visited were in fact demonstrating to you a form of this technology. The OMNI devices are remarkably similar to your description of the objects the tykes condensed from language. The OMNI device is how I found you here.
In the dawn of of artificial intelligence, the logos was perfected as you would have it. However, I believe there is still a more perfect logos than even the visual beholding. It is a human sense that was preluded in the first psychedelic revolution, and will eventually manifest into our biology in the coming evolution of man. The mind sees, the heart feels. We are still many generations from fully exploring the potential of this new human sense, which is why we need you. You are a vital element of our team, without which we are unable to continue development. With your help, I have great hope that the integration of this technology will inevitably lead to humans’ complete symbiosis with all life on Earth, the Galaxy, and beyond.

These are my instructions:
On the morning of your biological death, you must ingest 16oz of an Ayahuasca brew you will prepare the night before. The brew will be made from straferia cubensis, banisteriopsis caapi, and mhrb. Drink this early in the morning and meditate in your usual fashion. You will be in great pain throughout this experience. You will be reminded of your experiment with ordeal poison. This state of consciousness will give us the greatest opportunity of retrieving you. You will be delocalized for an undetermined amount of time. I can’t predict how long that will subjectively feel to you. I can only promise you that I will be as surgically precise as I am able. By informing you of this now, my hope is that you will be prepared for, and thus able to remember the vision, and most importantly, the feeling.

Our species is still many generations from leaving Earth and exploring the entirety of our Solar System, and millennia from physically reaching higher cohabiting intelligence in this Galaxy. The experience you have in 40 years after receiving this message is crucial to our understanding of one last element of the MYCOS / OMNI dynamic potential. We need you to tell us what happened.
That is all I can say for now. After this, you will not believe anything I have said, and you don’t have to. In 2 years from now, you will contact me again, in the midst of another very powerful mushroom trip, after you have fully understood the implications of what I told you today. I look forward to seeing you then.

Goodbye for now, Terence McKenna.

Just some simple spelling errors. La Chorrera I believe is spelled La Chorrera Very happy but double check that.

Also Stropharia cubensis and capitalize Banisteriopsis. Technically they should also be italicized as I have done here. But really it could be considered optional.

Plus Stropharia is an obsolete name for the species which is now classified under Psilocybe.

Good effort there, and I'll post more if I come up with any stylistic suggestions.
I already asked Alice.

Hello, Spirit_Seeker. Take time to review the attitude rules regarding per-eventual disclosure and posting to older versions of Nexus. You should find Nexus rules (2.2356 and 2.2357)—"Cross Posting to Past Nexūs" and "Event Horizon Studies (section xi. guidelines for posting before 2030). These do apply retroactively. We have permission to research, not to experiment—"any information regarding per-eventual phenomena can [sic: read does] damage or alter the symmetry of the timeline and attracts the unwanted attention of authorities." Please respect the delicate ecology of spacetime and consider the repercussions of your post. The "escaton" post resulted in hundreds of novel Nexūs, most of those analogs were highly unstable.

DMT is (of course) N,N-Dimethyltryptamine and psilocin is 4-HO-N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, so I'm not sure what kind of compound might be created by the fusion of the two. Can you elaborate?

Properly speaking it's not so much a "fusion." The MYCOS interface is based on a multiple tryptamine RNA-peptide conjugate. The original term abbreviated to Cyrillic (MYKO) by Dr. [...][] later dubbed MYCOS at [...][] by [...][] [...][] team who pioneered the integration of the fungal hyphae with cultured neurons on quantum-dot films. Transcriptional switching (4-ho, n,n :: on/off) allows for MYCOS mediated BCI via electron spin resonance at gated 5-HT2A but the overall interface only permits[...][] [...][].

What exactly is this?

Personally I'm not a fan of fiction, I'm more of a non-fiction, research orientated person, but I am a terence McKenna fan so I thought I would at least try to read this, too confusing for my tastes, I only skimmed through, but maybe I'm missing something, because I clearly don't understand what this is supposed to be.

Actually, I don't either.
It's 100% fiction obviously. Just a highdea I had.
I'm a big fan of McKenna and his later years always puzzled me. He was a fan of sci fi himself and I feel like if he read this, he would atleast have a good laugh.

When I was a teenager a meditation instructor of mine noticed that I had a copy schultes golden guide mixed into my books, this was at a correctional facility for juviniles, so just having that schultes book was a risk, but to my surprise, she took me aside and said "wait here". After leaving to her office for a quick moment she returned with a book, she said "don't let any staff catch you with this, and don't tell any of them you got it from me if you do" then she handed me a copy of "the archaic revival" by terence McKenna.

This was more than 14 years ago...

I'd like to think that I know McKenna and his work fairly well, and would rather enjoy discussing the topic, specially the later parts of his life which "puzzle" you.

Anyway, I apologize that I didn't understand your writing in this case, I'm always bad with fiction, I guess that unless something is factual, it's difficult to find the motivation to put much effort into understanding it, if something is fiction and seems convoluted and needlessly complex, I generally pass it up...actually, I put a good deal of effort into "finnegans wake" by Joyce, but that's about it.

Though people who enjoy this stuff may be into it...

It might be fiction it might not, but mushrooms really are something...

A friend of mine also claims they have spoken to him and said something bad is coming up and that it will happen in the near future and there is no way of stopping it. Once this happens he will know that this is it.

My friend was scared asf of the message because it felt too real. After some time he calmed himself down and went by with "I was just tripping".

Needless to say a month later we both ingested half a miligram of LSD, where the same voice began speaking to him again. He claims he felt something bad creeping in as soon as we ingested it. Somewhere at the peak of the experience he listened to the song "Sympathy for the Devil" by the rolling stones which also felt to real and he concluded the song was speaking to him.

This lead to his major mental breakdown and he put us both in a mental institution.

The voice later said that he will come down, but he will experience the same experience over and over again till the end of existence even in his next lives and each time it will be worse. The voice also said in the end that once he sobers up he will not know if it was real for the rest of his life.

I'm looking forward to see if McKennas speculations might be true, but it sure as hell wouldn't be the first time something DMT-based has predicted the future. All I know is that it is indeed possible, and it has happened to me too at some point, but that's a story for another time.

Knowing the DMT-based entheogens there is a strong possibility this will come true, but it doesn't have too. Either way, I sincerely hope it comes true at least partially. These tools really are something too powerful and significant to be just looked over and neglected.

I talk about McKenna constantly, but you will never hear me bring up 2012, the timewave, space-mushrooms, machine elves, or voices in the head, these were McKennas most trivial talking points, 95% of people can't understand the concepts or McKenna's motivations for presenting them, which leads them to become frustrated, or assume that they know what he is saying and misinterpret him, most just write him off as "crazy". Which they would not If they heard the other 90% of the things McKenna spoke about, and understood his ideas and motivations while he was speaking

Quote:
It is no great accomplishment to hear a voice in the head. The accomplishment is to make sure it is telling the truth, because the demons are of many kinds: "Some are made of ions, some of mind; the ones of ketamine, you'll find, stutter often and are blind." The reaction to these voices is not to kneel in genuflection before a god, because then one will be like Dorothy in her first encounter with Oz. There is no dignity in the universe unless we meet these things on our feet, and that means having an I/Thou relationship. One say to the Other: "You say you are omniscient, omnipresent, or you say you are from Zeta Reticuli. You're long on talk, but what can you show me?" Magicians, people who invoke these things, have always understood that one must go into such encounters with one's wits about oneself. -terence McKenna

When it comes to voices in the head I agree with the McKenna statement above:

McKenna never predicted the future, or made any real speculations which said much about the future, most his raps in that area were pure entertainment, it's fiction, for fun, but it's all technically possible, everything he says actually could happen, there's no universal laws preventing it, but thinking that any if it would happen is almost missing the point...

It's about generating novel.and useful.strains of thought, kind of like Einstein's "thought experiments" he would visualize novel or impossible concepts as a mental exercise, then he would apply this novel mental work in other areas.

Below McKenna explains:

Quote:
My notion of what the psychedelic experience is, for us, that we each must become like fishermen, and go out on to the dark ocean of mind, and let our nets down into that sea. And what you're after is not some behemoth, that will tear through your nets, follow them and drag you in your little boat, you know, into the abyss, nor are what we're looking for a bunch of sardines that can slip through your net and disappear. Ideas like, "Have you ever noticed that your little finger exactly fits your nostril?", and stuff like that. What we are looking for are middle-size ideas, that are not so small that they are trivial, and not so large that they're incomprehensible. Middle-size ideas we can wrestle into our boat and take back to the folks on shore, and have fish dinner. And every one of us when we go into the psychedelic state, this is what we should be looking for. It's not for your elucidation, it's not part of your self-directed psychotherapy. You are an explorer, and you represent our species, and the greatest good you can do is to bring back a new idea, because our world is in danger by the absence of good ideas. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness. And so to whatever degree any one of us can bring back a small piece of the picture and contribute it to the building of the new paradigm, then we participate in the redemption of the human spirit, and that after all is what it's really all about. -terence McKenna

It's about using your psychedelic experiences to build models and metaphors for understanding physical existance and personal consciousness, for example Nobel Prize winner Kary Mullis used concepts learned during a psychedelic experience to generate the concepts that led to the Nobel prize :

Quote:

A significant instance of problem solving resulted in a Nobel Prize for Kary Mullis. Until the invention of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), a common problem in biology was that biological samples were often too small to analyze, but Mullis solved that and won a Nobel Prize. He described how LSD aided him in doing so.

"PCR's another place where I was down there with the molecules when I discovered it and I wasn't stoned on LSD, but my mind by then had learned how to get down there. I could sit on a DNA molecule and watch the [indistinct] go by. . . . I've learned that partially I would think, and this is again my opinion, through psychedelic drugs . . . if I had not taken LSD ever would I have still been in PCR? I don't know, I doubt it, I seriously doubt it." (Mullis 1998; "Horizon: Psychedelic Science" 1997)

From the point of view of psychedelic cognitive studies, Mullis's example is noteworthy because he did not have his insight while taking psychedelics but instead used psychedelics to increase his ability to visualize, then transferred that cognitive skill back to his ordinary mindbody state. This confirms the idea that some skills learned in one state can be transferred to another. Transference and nontransference between mindbody states is itself a cognitive process that deserves study — learning to remember dreams, for example. Learning to increase this flow, if it is possible, would increase access to stores of information and possibly to new cognitive skills.

This is the one and only time you will see me speak about the time wave or 2012:

The time-wave was a graph made from an arrangement of the king wen sequence of hexagrams from the I-ching, the points where the graph dipped down represented novel points in time, the points were it went upwards we entropic points in time, and 2012 was the end date of the fractal line.

McKenna started a service called "Amenisis" where people would meet with him, and where he would generate a time-wave for them and see if it correlated with the events of their lives.

...and somehow people turn this into McKenna being a prophet or a crazy person. McKenna did speculate, for fun, on what the end point on the graph meant, hence "hitting the cosmic singularity", though technically a point in peak novelty could eventually be reached, but to put a date to it is a bit presumptuous, and McKenna knew this, McKenna was an intellectual, and also was quite adept at debunking mystics, prophets, UFO enthusiasts, crop circle folk* and any other "crazy" out there.

Quote:
Terence Meaden who was a meteorologist and when the first crop circles appeared and the weirdos began talking about telluric forces, messages from Atlantis, so forth and so on – he jumped into the fray and said, ‘nonsense, nonsense!” This is a meteorological phenomenon. In the warm days of summer on the lee side of these certain kinds of hills, a kind of circular low-pressure wind can get going and this is nothing to get excited about and we’ve got the statistics. The press loved him. They loved him as much as the screwballs and they would put him on. First they would interview the mad people and then Terence Meaden would come on and pooh-pooh it away.

So that was the first year of the crop circles. The next year the crop circles became considerably more elaborate with arrows coming off of them and zigzags and so forth and so on. Bring Terence Meaden onto the scene and he says, ‘well the new field of dynamic instability indicates that the mathematical solutions to these breakdown states are very complicated and unusual patterns…’ So then the next year, it was inconceivably complex, the crop circles. Meanwhile, crop circle time is in the springtime. It’s dead in the winter because the fields are empty, so Meaden had used the winter time to go to the Institute of Electrostatic Physics in Nagoya and came back full of talk about roving plasmic fields and this sort of thing. Armed with the roving plasmic fields, no crop circle was too bizarre to not be proclaimed the product of natural forces.

This went on and on and finally BBC2 - and you can think about this what you like - but they made a crop circle in frustration with this whole thing. They made a crop circle and among the crop circle cognoscenti, there are certain moves that are the favorite moves that are the authenticating moves that no human being could possibly do it. So the BBC2 people made a very good crop circle and they brought Terence Meaden out and said, Terence we’ve just spotted one over here and we need to get you right to the scene before the tourists got there.’ They toured with him and he pointed out the distinguishing characteristics, no doubt about it. Then they sat him down in the center of this field and said, Terence, we made it.

It’s a horrible thing actually to see a grown man cry. He is devastated. This is just one of many moments. -terence McKenna

They should go back where they came from and take their tchotchke with them. We need people who can build in light and balance planetary ecologies and do really cool things.
