I'm very pleased to announce the release of the fourth full length Tycho album, Epoch. 10 years ago next month the first Tycho record, Past is Prologue, was released and it's been an incredible journey. There's nothing I could possibly say to fully express my deep gratitude to all of you for making this past decade possible. I truly hope you enjoy this music and make it your own. We finished the album less than a month ago and decided to forego the typical release schedule and just put the record out as soon as possible. We're all very excited for you to be able to hear it so soon after it was completed. Thank you and enjoy!

Thank you, for sharing! Tycho's last album already was great, this one naturally ought to be even better!

Music is alive and in your soul. It can move you. It can carry you. It can make you cry! Make you laugh. Most importantly, it makes you feel! What is more important than that?

meh, not feeling this one.

I saw scott perform 10 years ago, his sound was more forward-thinking electronic, on the now defunct Merck label.
Since Awake, it's been yesterday-thinking pop/shoegaze, with prog-house elements (which makes sense, Ghostly is a prog-house/techno label). but a lot of folks like his "new" sound; not much of a progression from Awake/Hours.

Yeah, there's many elements he uses that're still there. But yeah, after awake it's been this kind of up-tempo [i don't have the musical lingo to say what kinda style it is now] type thing. Awake started that and now this, but idk, I think the reason I tend to like it so much even today is because it's been a big part of most of my more serious entheogenic experiences. So yeah, I guess I kind've have an affinity for it. Very happy

But yeah I agree, not much of a progression.

I will admit, his music has a sublime, positive vibe; perhaps uplifting.
I could see how it would be entheogen-friendly.

past is prologue was a favorite mushroom soundtrack.

Have any of you noticed how if you look at the simple artwork for this album it seems to be constantly expanding? It's a neat optical illusion (or nobody else can see it and I really am completely crazy!)

The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

Just a little crazy. Razz

jk

Yeah I don't really see it, aside from the orange looking like it's perpetually expanding outward yet never really expanding anywhere. Very happy

That's the one. The effect particularly shows when framed with black in the youtube window. Less so with a white background. I'd love to listen to the album but for some reason youtube wouldn't play, nor would soundcloud. (I suspect this comes of recently having upgraded my operating system...)

(EDIT: WTF? Now it works fine. Except I'm going to bed. Try again tomoz.)
